Data Scientist, Senior-Level

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Data Scientist, Senior-Level based in Portugal.

This is a senior-level opportunity for a data and AI professional who wants to influence enterprise-wide transformation initiatives.

You will help shape modern data ecosystems and develop intelligent, agentic AI solutions from strategy through end-to-end delivery.

The role combines hands-on data science expertise with product ownership, technical architecture, governance, and client advisory responsibilities.

You will translate complex business needs into structured backlogs, roadmaps, and scalable Data & AI solutions.

Your work will focus on building modular, reusable capabilities that can operate effectively across sophisticated enterprise environments.

You will collaborate with technical and business stakeholders, lead high-level discussions, and provide trusted guidance on emerging AI opportunities.

Accountabilities

• Design, build, and orchestrate agentic AI workflows, generative AI applications, LLM-based solutions, and intelligent autonomous systems.
• Translate business objectives and user needs into structured product backlogs, user stories, technical requirements, and execution roadmaps.
• Take ownership of Data & AI initiatives from strategic definition through architecture, development, implementation, and delivery.
• Design modular, scalable, and reusable Data and AI components that can be applied across complex enterprise environments.
• Apply strong data stewardship practices covering data quality, lifecycle management, privacy, governance, security, and production readiness.
• Bridge business and technical requirements by collaborating closely with stakeholders, project managers, engineers, data professionals, and other cross-functional teams.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor, leading demonstrations, architecture discussions, technical workshops, and high-level stakeholder conversations.
• Identify opportunities to improve enterprise data ecosystems and accelerate the adoption and scaling of advanced AI capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership throughout delivery, helping teams make sound architectural and implementation decisions.
• Communicate complex Data & AI concepts clearly to diverse, multicultural stakeholders and help align technical solutions with strategic business outcomes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, AI Architecture, or a closely related field.
• Strong foundations in statistics, mathematics, machine learning, and modern cloud-native data platforms.
• Proven experience designing, building, or orchestrating agentic AI systems, generative AI solutions, LLM applications, or intelligent autonomous workflows.
• Strong product ownership mindset, with the ability to translate business requirements into product backlogs, user stories, priorities, and actionable roadmaps.
• Deep understanding of data quality, data lifecycle management, privacy, governance, and data stewardship practices.
• Ability to architect modular, scalable, reusable Data & AI components across complex enterprise technology environments.
• Strong technical leadership and client-facing advisory skills, including experience leading demonstrations, technical discussions, and stakeholder engagements.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with the ability to connect technical decisions to business objectives.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with cross-functional and multicultural teams.
• Fluent English at B2 level or higher, with the confidence to communicate, influence, and collaborate with global stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently while taking ownership of complex initiatives and contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
