This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Dir, Product Management based in United States.
This is a senior product leadership opportunity focused on shaping the future of secure, AI-powered software development. You will own a strategic product portfolio spanning software supply chain security, dependency management, artifact trust, provenance, and package governance. The role combines long-term product strategy with hands-on ownership of some of the most complex problems in the space. As a player-coach, you will lead and develop a team of product managers while remaining directly accountable for critical product outcomes. You will work closely with engineering, design, security, sales, customer success, and enterprise customers to turn market signals into differentiated products. The environment is fast-moving, highly technical, and data-driven, with significant scope to influence product direction, commercial outcomes, and the broader developer ecosystem.
Accountabilities:
- Define the vision and multi-year strategy for the software supply chain security portfolio, determining what to build, consolidate, retire, or intentionally avoid.
- Create a unified product experience across dependency security, artifact trust and provenance, package governance, and related capabilities, including decisions around product positioning, packaging, and portfolio consolidation.
- Develop the application graph and connective product experiences that link code, repositories, artifacts, and applications, enabling customers to understand risk, impact, and required remediation.
- Define how security risks are identified, prioritized, and carried through to resolution, helping security teams focus on issues that require meaningful action rather than simply generating findings.
- Make verifiable software provenance a seamless part of the development workflow, enabling trust signals to be generated as software is created and applied across developer and AI-assisted workflows.
- Engage directly with enterprise security teams, platform engineering leaders, developers, and the open source community to understand customer needs and inform product priorities.
- Use product usage data and customer evidence to evaluate performance, challenge assumptions, and guide roadmap decisions.
- Translate competitive intelligence into strategic product decisions rather than feature-parity roadmaps.
- Establish success metrics for the portfolio and hold the product organization accountable for measurable outcomes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop product managers across different levels of seniority, setting a high performance bar and supporting career growth.
- Partner closely with engineering and design leadership on staffing, product delivery, operating models, and execution.
- Build strong relationships with strategic security stakeholders and leverage broader security research, threat intelligence, and enterprise capabilities to improve developer and security workflows.
- Shape packaging, pricing, and consumption models while owning adoption, growth, and revenue outcomes for the product segment.
- Represent the product vision in executive briefings, analyst engagements, and developer communities while serving as a thought leader across the broader organization and ecosystem.
- 8+ years of experience in product, service, project, or program management, software development, product design, or a related field; alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with 6+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 2 years of experience developing deep expertise in developer tools, developer platforms, or security products, with the ability to translate complex developer needs into actionable product roadmaps.
- 3+ years of people management experience, including leading and developing product managers.
- Demonstrated experience owning a product area end to end as an individual contributor while also leading or developing other product managers.
- Hands-on experience with software supply chain security is strongly preferred, including areas such as software composition analysis, dependency management, package registries, ecosystem tooling, SBOMs, provenance, attestations, or open source malware detection.
- Experience directly managing product managers, including hiring, coaching across different experience levels, setting expectations, and managing performance.
- Proven ability to build a coherent product line from separately managed capabilities, including making difficult consolidation, prioritization, and deprecation decisions.
- Experience with product packaging, pricing, or consumption-based commercial models is preferred.
- Strong cross-functional leadership experience working with Engineering, Design, Sales, Customer Success, and other stakeholders on technically complex products.
- Strong customer orientation and ability to synthesize enterprise, developer, security, and open source feedback into clear product strategy.
- Excellent analytical, strategic, and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and technical audiences.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while maintaining clear priorities, strong judgment, and ownership of outcomes.
- Base salary range of $140,400-$372,300 USD per year, with actual compensation determined by factors including location, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Eligibility for additional rewards, including annual bonuses and stock, depending on role and individual impact.
- Potential eligibility for sales incentives based on revenue or utilization for applicable roles.
- Remote work opportunity within the United States.
- Generous learning and professional development opportunities.
- Opportunity to lead a high-impact product portfolio at the intersection of developer platforms, cybersecurity, AI, and software supply chain security.
- Significant influence over multi-year product strategy, portfolio architecture, commercial direction, and customer outcomes.
- Leadership opportunities with responsibility for hiring, coaching, and developing a growing product management organization.
- Extensive collaboration with engineering, design, security, sales, customer success, and enterprise customers.
- Opportunity to shape products used by a large global developer and enterprise community.
- Inclusive and diverse work environment with reasonable accommodations available throughout the interview process.
- Opportunity to work on technically ambitious products addressing critical challenges in modern software development and security.
