This is a strategic analytics leadership opportunity within a risk and credit organization, focused on turning complex data into insights that influence critical business decisions. You will work across Credit, Operations, Marketing, Product, and Finance to identify trends, answer strategic questions, and improve analytical capabilities. The role combines hands-on technical work with strong business partnership, using large datasets and modern cloud-based technologies. You will build dashboards, automate analytical workflows, monitor data quality, and develop scalable methodologies that improve efficiency. The position offers significant exposure to consumer lending, financial services, and data-driven decision-making in a fast-paced environment. It is well suited to an analytical leader who combines technical depth, intellectual curiosity, precision, and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly.
Accountabilities:
- Develop, automate, and maintain analytical workflows using Python and/or R, with code managed through GitHub and collaborative development practices.
- Design, build, and maintain Tableau dashboards and reporting solutions that provide clear visibility into key business metrics across Credit, Operations, Marketing, Finance, and other functions.
- Partner with Data Engineering to build and refine data workflows within Databricks and ensure analytics infrastructure effectively supports reporting and decision-making needs.
- Conduct ad hoc and strategic analyses to answer complex business questions, translating findings into clear recommendations for business and senior leadership.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and performance drivers that can inform strategic and operational decisions.
- Monitor data quality and proactively identify anomalies, inconsistencies, or issues affecting critical business metrics.
- Develop, document, and continuously improve analytical methodologies, processes, and frameworks to increase efficiency, accuracy, scalability, and repeatability.
- Evaluate opportunities to introduce improved analytical approaches, automation, AI-enabled tools, and modern data practices across workflows.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into high-quality analytical solutions.
- Communicate analytical insights through clear narratives, visualizations, and recommendations tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support a culture of accuracy, precision, continuous learning, and evidence-based decision-making across the organization.
- 7+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field, preferably within financial services, consumer lending, or FinTech.
- Strong SQL skills, including experience querying cloud-based data warehouses such as Snowflake.
- Strong proficiency with Tableau or comparable data visualization platforms, ideally supported by a portfolio of dashboards developed for business users.
- Working knowledge of Python and/or R for data manipulation, analysis, workflow automation, and analytical modeling.
- Familiarity with Databricks, Spark, or similar distributed computing and large-scale data processing platforms.
- Experience using Git and GitHub for version control, code management, and collaborative development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to distill complex analysis into concise, actionable insights for diverse audiences and senior stakeholders.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift and requirements may be ambiguous.
- Experience in consumer lending, credit risk modeling, personal lending, or related financial services environments is a strong plus.
- Interest in using AI tools and generative AI to improve analytics workflows, automate repetitive processes, and accelerate insight generation is preferred.
- Familiarity with dbt or modern analytics engineering practices is beneficial.
- Exposure to machine learning concepts or predictive modeling techniques is a plus.
- Knowledge of financial services regulations, including fair lending and FCRA requirements, is advantageous.
- Experience presenting strategic insights and recommendations to executive leadership is preferred.
- Base salary range of $145,000-$160,000 USD.
