Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Information Technology based in United States.

This is a senior technology leadership role responsible for translating strategic technology priorities into reliable, secure, and scalable IT operations.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams spanning infrastructure, security, business applications, cloud platforms, and end-user services.

The role combines operational ownership with strategic partnership across technology and business leadership.

You will drive IT service management maturity, strengthen governance, and modernize Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.

A major focus will be building and developing a high-performing IT organization to support significant business growth.

You will operate with substantial autonomy while partnering closely with engineering, people operations, security, and executive leadership.

The position also offers a potential path toward broader technology leadership as organizational needs and demonstrated performance evolve.

Accountabilities

    • Direct day-to-day IT operations, including end-user services, procurement, employee onboarding and offboarding, and overall technology service delivery.

    • Lead security and cloud infrastructure functions across hybrid on-premises and Azure environments, ensuring reliability, resilience, performance, cost efficiency, and alignment with applicable security and compliance requirements.

    • Oversee the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and hosted SaaS business applications, ensuring appropriate administration, governance, security, reliability, and user adoption.

    • Establish, maintain, and regularly test business continuity and disaster recovery plans, including backup, failover, and recovery procedures.

    • Translate the technology strategy established by the CTO into actionable plans, priorities, timelines, and measurable operational outcomes.

    • Drive ITSM and ITIL maturity by establishing and continuously improving processes for incident, problem, change, request, asset, and configuration management, along with relevant service-level metrics and KPIs.

    • Partner with software engineering leadership on infrastructure requirements and software development operations, maintaining working knowledge of platforms such as Azure DevOps, SQL Server, and IIS.

    • Collaborate with technology and people leadership on workforce planning, recruitment, career development, role structures, and hiring pipelines for the IT organization.

    • Serve as a trusted technology partner to business leaders and peer executives, coordinating shared infrastructure, security, service, and operational priorities.

    • Recruit, develop, mentor, and manage multidisciplinary IT teams, establishing clear responsibilities, career paths, performance expectations, and organizational structures to support rapid growth.

    • Manage technology vendors and strategic partners, including contract negotiations, renewals, performance management, and ongoing relationship oversight.

    • Contribute to IT budgeting and forecasting, including infrastructure, licensing, and vendor-related costs.

    • Provide executive-level reporting on IT initiatives, roadmap progress, service performance, risks, resource requirements, and operational priorities.

    • Ensure assigned initiatives and deliverables are completed on time and within budget while supporting additional technology priorities as required.

    • Leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, improve operational efficiency, and support broader organizational innovation.

    • Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

      • 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, operations, or technology leadership, including at least 5 years leading and developing multidisciplinary IT teams.

      • Demonstrated leadership experience across security, cloud infrastructure, application management, end-user support, procurement, onboarding, and offboarding.

      • Deep hands-on and leadership experience with the Microsoft technology ecosystem, including Microsoft 365 and Azure PaaS and IaaS environments.

      • Experience working with security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and operating technology environments subject to audits.

      • Strong ITSM/ITIL expertise with a proven ability to establish and mature service management processes.

      • Working knowledge of software development operations and technologies such as Azure DevOps, SQL Server, and IIS.

      • Proven ability to lead high-velocity technical hiring and build multidisciplinary teams during periods of significant organizational growth.

      • Experience negotiating and managing technology vendor contracts, renewals, service levels, and performance.

      • Excellent executive communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear business-level reporting and recommendations.

      • Familiarity with SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies.

      • Experience working within a multi-tenant or multi-company environment.

      • Demonstrated ability to adopt AI and emerging technologies to improve workflows and operational processes.

      • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and competing deadlines.

      • Ability to work effectively under pressure, adapt to evolving requirements, and quickly learn new technologies.

      • Willingness to travel up to 5% within the United States, including travel to client sites, meetings, conferences, or other business activities.

      • Benefits

        • Base compensation of approximately $141,750-$172,462.50 per year, with actual compensation varying based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

        • Choice of comprehensive medical plans, including two PPO-style options and a high-deductible plan with HSA eligibility.

        • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options.

        • Dental and vision coverage.

        • Medical, dental, and vision benefits available for eligible spouses or domestic partners and dependent children through age 26.

        • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching and a self-directed brokerage account option.

        • Paid time off, including additional paid time off during the final week of the year.

        • Company-paid life insurance for employees and eligible dependents.

        • Short- and long-term disability and AD&D coverage.

        • Professional development opportunities, tuition reimbursement, and professional licensing assistance.

        • Paid parental leave after one year of employment.

        • Fully remote work arrangement within the United States.

        • Opportunity to grow into broader technology leadership responsibilities based on performance, organizational needs, and business conditions.
