Full Stack JavaScript/TypeScript Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Full Stack JavaScript/TypeScript Engineer based in Brazil.

Join a Commercial Engineering team working on business-critical digital publishing and advertising platforms. You will contribute to high-traffic production systems where reliability, performance, and maintainability are essential. The role is full stack, with an approximate 70/30 frontend-to-backend focus, centered on browser-level engineering rather than traditional UI or React development. You will work extensively with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, the DOM, and browser APIs. The position combines ongoing platform enhancement with modernization and migration initiatives in a sophisticated technical environment. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers, take ownership of complex problems, and have opportunities to grow across diverse long-term projects.

Accountabilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance production software using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Build browser-level functionality using vanilla JavaScript, the DOM, and modern browser APIs.
• Develop and maintain plugin, configuration, and browser-based systems supporting commercial platforms.
• Integrate and maintain third-party scripts across digital publishing and advertising technology environments.
• Contribute to browser functionality involving DOM manipulation, scheduling, brokers, and related client-side mechanisms.
• Work with analytics and Consent Management Platform (CMP) integrations to support commercial and advertising requirements.
• Contribute to the evolution, modernization, and migration of high-traffic production platforms.
• Deliver a combination of business-as-usual enhancements, platform improvements, and longer-term migration initiatives.
• Work within established CI/CD pipelines and containerized, Kubernetes-based environments.
• Collaborate with an experienced Agile engineering team to design reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
• Investigate technical issues, take ownership of problems, and use initiative to identify and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, engineering practices, reliability, and long-term maintainability.

Requirements:

• Strong commercial experience developing with JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and backend development.
• Proven experience working extensively with vanilla JavaScript rather than relying primarily on frontend frameworks.
• Strong understanding of the DOM, browser APIs, and the underlying behavior of modern web browsers.
• Solid software engineering fundamentals, including clean code, maintainability, testing, and engineering best practices.
• Demonstrated experience developing, deploying, and supporting software in production environments.
• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerized applications.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes-based environments and modern deployment practices.
• Ability to work comfortably across both frontend and backend areas of a system.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the initiative to independently investigate and resolve technical challenges.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within established engineering teams and navigate complex production environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience with CSS and browser layout is a plus.
• Previous exposure to digital publishing, advertising technology, or high-traffic web platforms is desirable.
• Experience with third-party script integrations, analytics platforms, or Consent Management Platforms (CMPs) is advantageous.
• Experience contributing to platform modernization or migration projects is beneficial.
• Familiarity with using LLM and AI tools as part of the software development workflow is a plus.
