Lead AI Engineer - 2.00 pm to 11.00 pm IST

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead AI Engineer based in India.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on building the next generation of agentic AI solutions for go-to-market technology environments.

You will lead the design and delivery of intelligent workflows, autonomous agents, and AI-powered integrations across enterprise platforms.

The role combines advanced AI engineering with Salesforce, Slack, cloud infrastructure, data governance, and workflow automation.

You will take solutions from early prototypes to secure, scalable, production-ready systems while establishing strong engineering standards.

AI evaluation, retrieval, orchestration, observability, and responsible security practices will be central to your work.

You will also mentor experienced engineers and influence architecture, automation, and build-versus-buy decisions.

Accountabilities

• Lead hands-on engineering delivery of agentic AI capabilities across Salesforce, Slack, third-party applications, and internal platforms.
• Design and build LLM-powered workflows, autonomous agents, multi-agent systems, and AI-enhanced integrations using modern orchestration frameworks and protocols.
• Define scalable enterprise AI architecture patterns covering model routing, orchestration, memory management, governance, and operational controls.
• Design and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, semantic search pipelines, vector retrieval strategies, and enterprise knowledge-grounding solutions.
• Develop and maintain Salesforce capabilities including Apex, Lightning Web Components, Platform Events, REST/SOAP integrations, and Agentforce agent actions.
• Establish AI evaluation frameworks covering prompt quality, hallucination reduction, model performance, and ongoing monitoring.
• Define robust error-handling, fallback, and graceful-degradation strategies for non-deterministic AI applications.
• Champion security-first AI engineering through input validation, output sanitization, prompt-injection protection, and appropriate governance.
• Modernize legacy integrations by replacing them with event-driven, automated, and agentic architectures.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, observability, and operational tooling for AI-powered systems.
• Mentor mid- and senior-level engineers, conduct code reviews, and establish engineering standards and best practices.
• Build internal tools and applications that improve data access, decision-making, and operational efficiency.
• Identify manual processes suitable for automation and drive an automation-first approach across business workflows.
• Evaluate AI platforms and technology vendors using a strategic build-versus-buy approach.
• Stay current with emerging AI/ML technologies and apply them pragmatically to enterprise use cases.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a lead, principal, or equivalent technical leadership role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript/JavaScript for AI, automation, and integration development.
• Hands-on production experience building enterprise AI applications, autonomous agents, LLM-powered systems, document parsing, and structured data-extraction pipelines.
• Experience with modern AI orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, AutoGen, MCP, LangChain, or similar technologies.
• Strong Salesforce development experience, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, REST/SOAP integrations, Platform Events, and Agentforce.
• Proficiency with vector databases, semantic retrieval, and retrieval optimization techniques.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and AI platforms such as AWS Bedrock or Vertex AI, as well as workflow orchestration, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with tools such as GitHub Actions, Copado, Jenkins, or comparable deployment and automation platforms.
• Strong understanding of LLM limitations, token economics, model selection, and the trade-offs involved in enterprise AI architecture.
• Demonstrated ability to apply AI to improve decision-making, automate workflows, increase efficiency, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, mentoring, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Salesforce Platform Developer II or Application Architect certification is a plus.
• Experience building Slack applications, Slack Workflow Builder solutions, or Slack-integrated agentic workflows is advantageous.
• Experience with Salesforce Einstein/Agentforce, open-source AI frameworks, model evaluation, fine-tuning, synthetic data generation, model routing platforms, or enterprise AI control planes is desirable.
