Lead SDET - Revex

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead SDET - Revex based in India.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on building scalable, reliable, and modern software quality practices.

You will lead automation strategy across UI, API, performance, and scalability testing while helping engineering teams deliver with confidence.

The role combines framework development, architecture and code reviews, shift-left testing, and continuous improvement of QA practices.

You will work closely with developers, product managers, DevOps, and other stakeholders to make quality a shared responsibility throughout the product lifecycle.

A strong focus on performance, microfrontend architectures, databases, CI/CD, and production reliability will be central to your impact.

You will also mentor SDET and QA engineers, introduce innovative testing approaches, and help reduce defect leakage through effective root-cause analysis.

Accountabilities

• Lead quality initiatives and establish testing standards and best practices across UI, API, performance, and scalability testing.
• Design, build, maintain, and continuously improve robust test automation frameworks for UI and API testing.
• Conduct code and architecture reviews, helping engineers understand the quality and testing implications of their changes.
• Drive shift-left testing by embedding quality practices early in the design and development lifecycle and ensuring automation identifies defects as early as possible.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to validate application performance, scalability, reliability, and infrastructure-level quality.
• Provide technical quality expertise across microfrontend architectures and databases such as MongoDB and Firebase.
• Mentor and guide QA/SDET team members, strengthening technical capabilities, automation practices, and quality-focused thinking.
• Promote innovative testing approaches that improve efficiency, accelerate delivery, and minimize production defect leakage.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, DevOps, and product stakeholders to establish shared ownership of quality.
• Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) for production issues and implement improvements that address recurring defect and leakage patterns.
• Optimize and manage CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing for large-scale applications.
• Influence product architecture and technical design decisions through a strong quality-first perspective.
• Develop tools and internal solutions that improve QA productivity and streamline testing workflows.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software testing and test automation, including at least 3+ years in a senior or technical leadership role.
• Proven experience designing and scaling automation frameworks across both UI and API testing.
• Strong programming skills in one or more automation-focused languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java.
• Solid understanding of performance, scalability, infrastructure, and reliability testing.
• Hands-on experience with microfrontend architectures and databases such as MongoDB and Firebase.
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, continuous testing, and automation integration for large-scale applications.
• Experience conducting code reviews, establishing automation standards, and mentoring engineers.
• Demonstrated ability to influence product architecture and design decisions from a quality and reliability perspective.
• Experience managing and optimizing CI/CD workflows in complex engineering environments.
• Proven ability to develop internal tools or solutions that improve QA productivity and efficiency.
• Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate and influence technical teams.
• Customer-first mindset with a focus on translating engineering quality into dependable products and positive user experiences.
