Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Liability & Casualty Claims Adjuster based in Canada.

This role offers an opportunity to manage complex liability and casualty claims in a flexible remote or hybrid environment.

You will investigate, assess, and adjust claims involving casualty, bodily injury, and property damage liability.

The position combines technical claims expertise, investigation, negotiation, documentation, and client service.

You will manage a dynamic portfolio while balancing competing priorities and maintaining high standards of file quality and responsiveness.

You’ll collaborate with experienced claims professionals, support teams, and business development stakeholders across Canada.

The role also provides access to modern claims technology, professional development, mentorship, and opportunities to broaden your insurance career.

Accountabilities

    • Manage liability and casualty claims throughout the adjustment lifecycle, including investigation, assessment, documentation, negotiation, and resolution.

    • Handle claims involving casualty, bodily injury, and liability-related property damage while applying appropriate claims practices and insurance principles.

    • Investigate claims thoroughly, identify relevant facts and cause-and-effect relationships, and draw well-supported conclusions.

    • Review and interpret complex insurance, legal, and technical documentation to support accurate claims decisions.

    • Conduct interviews and communicate with claimants, clients, insurers, legal representatives, and other relevant stakeholders as required.

    • Negotiate effectively with involved parties and adapt communication style to different audiences and situations.

    • Maintain accurate and timely claim files while ensuring activities progress efficiently toward resolution.

    • Prioritize and manage a dynamic workload, balancing daily activities with longer-term file management requirements.

    • Provide responsive, professional customer service and address inquiries or concerns in a timely manner.

    • Identify and follow up on relevant business development opportunities while maintaining a strong focus on claims service.

    • Use claims management technology and Microsoft Office tools to document, organize, analyze, and communicate claim information.

    • Participate in ongoing education, mentorship, and professional development activities to maintain and expand claims expertise.

    • Requirements

      • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, with previous claims adjusting experience preferred.

      • Demonstrated experience with casualty, bodily injury, and liability property damage claims.

      • An adjuster’s license is required, or candidates should have completed at least the first four CIP courses: C11, C12, C13, and C14.

      • CIP designation or active progress toward the designation is preferred.

      • A university degree or post-secondary education related to insurance is considered an asset; equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.

      • C110: Essentials of Loss Adjusting is considered an additional asset.

      • Strong analytical and investigative skills, including the ability to identify cause-and-effect relationships and draw sound conclusions.

      • Ability to interpret complex legal and insurance documentation and perform advanced numerical calculations and comparative analysis.

      • Excellent written communication skills, including strong grammar and technical writing abilities.

      • Strong verbal communication, listening, interviewing, and negotiation skills.

      • Ability to adapt communication style appropriately depending on the audience and circumstances.

      • Excellent organization and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively.

      • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities, including the ability to manage conflict and difficult situations professionally.

      • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a proactive, positive approach to customer service.

      • Strong sense of urgency, responsiveness, accountability, and attention to detail.

      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and OneDrive.

      • Commitment to continuous education, professional learning, and development.

      • Benefits

        • Competitive compensation: Annual salary range of $67,200 to $93,300, based on qualifications, experience, and applicable factors.

        • Remote or hybrid flexibility: Work remotely or from a local office environment, depending on your preference and applicable arrangements.

        • Professional development: Access to education fee reimbursement, mentorship programs, and ongoing learning opportunities.

        • Technology: Access to a specialized claims management platform designed to support modern adjuster workflows.

        • Claims support: Assistance from experienced local claims support teams, centralized after-hours support, and dictation services.

        • Career growth: Opportunities to expand into other claims specialties, branch management, different locations, and other roles across the organization.

        • Collaborative environment: Work alongside a large network of experienced claims professionals across Canada.

        • Balanced workload: Claims assignments are managed with attention to workload balance, with compensation tied to billable hours.
