Mid-level Java Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Mid-level Java Developer based in Brazil.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a strategic financial-sector project, developing robust, scalable, and high-performance technology solutions. You will transform business and technical needs into reliable software while helping evolve the architecture and product. The position involves building and enhancing microservices and RESTful APIs within a collaborative engineering environment. You will participate in technical discussions, code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working with modern technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure, you will contribute to solutions designed for demanding and potentially high-volume environments. Accountabilities:

• Participate in understanding business and technical requirements through inception sessions, refinement meetings, and solution discussions.
• Design, develop, and evolve scalable, resilient, and high-performance software solutions.
• Build and maintain microservices and RESTful APIs, ensuring reliability, maintainability, and performance.
• Contribute to technical solution design and architectural decisions across different scenarios and challenges.
• Apply software engineering best practices, clean code principles, and Clean Architecture concepts.
• Ensure delivery quality through unit, functional, integration, and automated testing.
• Participate actively in code reviews, version control practices, and collaborative development workflows.
• Work closely with developers, product teams, and other stakeholders to ensure solutions are aligned with business and customer needs.
• Contribute to CI/CD practices and containerized application delivery using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Support cloud-based development and deployment, particularly within Microsoft Azure environments.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, technical practices, and team quality.
• Participate in an Agile environment based on collaboration, ownership, transparency, and continuous delivery.
• Help identify opportunities to improve system observability, resilience, scalability, and performance.
• Contribute to technical discussions involving distributed systems, event-driven architectures, messaging, and system architecture when applicable.
• Take responsibility for assigned deliverables while proactively raising questions, identifying risks, and proposing improvements.

Requirements:

• Professional experience developing applications with Java 17 or Java 21.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and microservices development.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Practical experience with unit, functional, integration, and automated testing.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Git and modern version-control practices.
• Experience participating in code reviews and collaborating within software engineering teams.
• Knowledge of software development best practices, clean code, design principles, and Clean Architecture.
• Experience or knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud technologies.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies.
• Ability to operate with appropriate autonomy for a mid-level position and take ownership of technical deliveries.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a genuine focus on software quality.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to challenge existing approaches, ask questions, propose improvements, and contribute to the team's technical evolution.
• Experience in high-volume or mission-critical environments, particularly financial services, is an advantage.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, observability, resilience, performance engineering, messaging, event-driven systems, or architectural decision-making is desirable.
