Principal Product Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Product Manager based in India.

This is a senior, high-impact individual contributor role responsible for shaping the strategic direction of a Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM) product portfolio.

You will own product strategy and roadmap decisions across multiple modules, balancing enterprise customer needs, market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and competitive trends.

The role combines strategic product leadership with hands-on involvement in discovery, requirements, architecture trade-offs, and execution.

You will work closely with engineering, design, sales, marketing, technical teams, and executive stakeholders across a complex B2B SaaS environment.

A major focus will be anticipating developments in PKI, crypto-agility, post-quantum cryptography, Zero Trust, and certificate automation.

You will also mentor other product managers and help raise the standards of product discovery, documentation, and delivery across the organization.

Accountabilities:

• Own and evolve the roadmap for Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM), aligning product priorities with business strategy, customer needs, competitive dynamics, and market opportunities.
• Serve as the senior product strategist for CLM, coordinating priorities across multiple modules and workstreams while maintaining a coherent product vision.
• Lead in-depth discovery with enterprise customers, PKI architects, security teams, and other stakeholders to identify challenges around certificate issuance, renewal, revocation, discovery, visibility, and automation.
• Translate regulatory and compliance requirements, including NIST, PCI-DSS, SOC 2, eIDAS, and FIPS standards, into forward-looking product capabilities and requirements.
• Define product strategy and market positioning around emerging industry developments such as post-quantum cryptography, short-lived certificates, crypto-agility, and Zero Trust architectures.
• Partner with engineering and architecture teams to evaluate technical trade-offs and ensure product decisions are practical, scalable, secure, and commercially valuable.
• Establish high standards for product requirements by creating and reviewing PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and documentation for complex and cross-functional initiatives.
• Collaborate with Design to develop intuitive end-to-end experiences covering certificate discovery, enrollment, renewal automation, policy enforcement, and related workflows.
• Mentor and coach senior and mid-level product managers while contributing to hiring, onboarding, product processes, and organizational maturity.
• Represent the CLM product strategy and roadmap with enterprise customers, prospects, industry forums, conferences, and other external stakeholders.
• Influence cross-functional teams without direct authority, aligning engineering, design, marketing, sales, technical teams, and executives around shared strategic priorities.
• Use product analytics, customer insights, market research, and experimentation to evaluate opportunities and guide multi-quarter strategic investments.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of product management experience, including at least 4+ years in a senior, lead, or principal product management capacity.
• Proven experience owning end-to-end product strategy for B2B SaaS or enterprise software, from market analysis and vision through execution, launch, and iteration.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities, including experience with product analytics, cohort analysis, A/B testing, and data-informed strategic planning.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence executives and align highly technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Significant experience working with enterprise customers, particularly within regulated sectors such as financial services, healthcare, government, or telecommunications.
• Demonstrated experience with complex, API-first products and platform-level integrations.
• Experience mentoring, coaching, or leading product managers and acting as a force multiplier for the wider product organization.
• Strong technical fluency in cybersecurity, identity, PKI, certificate management, cryptography, or related infrastructure technologies is highly valuable.
• Direct experience with CLM or PKI platforms is strongly preferred, including knowledge of X.509 certificates, certificate authorities, trust chains, CRL, and OCSP.
• Familiarity with certificate enrollment and automation protocols such as ACME, SCEP, EST, and REST-based CA APIs.
• Working knowledge of HSMs, cryptographic key management, security policy enforcement, crypto-agility, and enterprise-scale automation is advantageous.
• Strong strategic thinking, customer empathy, ownership, curiosity, and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments.
