Senior AI Engineer Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior AI Engineer Developer based in Brazil.

This role is an opportunity for an experienced developer to serve as a technical reference within a multidisciplinary team.

You will help evolve a strategic product for a major network of credit cooperatives, building solutions with meaningful business impact.

The position combines advanced software development with AI, automation, data-driven decision-making, and modern engineering practices.

You will contribute to technical strategy, product roadmaps, architecture, and the delivery of complex, scalable solutions.

The role also involves mentoring developers, sharing knowledge, and helping teams adopt AI-native ways of working.

You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into sustainable technology solutions.

Accountabilities:

• Act as a technical reference for the development team, designing, developing, and coding complex systems and components.
• Apply architectural best practices, engineering standards, and proven development patterns across solutions.
• Use Lean thinking and AI-powered tools, including Claude, to improve development outcomes, optimize processes, and increase delivery efficiency and quality.
• Apply data-driven thinking and AI-generated insights to support product objectives and technical decisions.
• Investigate, identify, and resolve complex issues involving code, data, infrastructure, and application environments.
• Ensure solutions maintain strong levels of stability, performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Contribute to the technical strategy and product roadmap, assessing the feasibility and potential impact of new AI and automation capabilities.
• Evaluate opportunities to integrate emerging technologies into existing products and development workflows.
• Mentor junior developers and support the continuous development of technical skills across the team.
• Conduct code reviews and promote high standards of software quality and maintainability.
• Train other teams on development methodologies and encourage consistent practices focused on AI and automation.
• Build a deep understanding of client strategy, business needs, and product priorities.
• Ensure technical deliveries create continuous business value and contribute to long-term stakeholder relationships.
• Monitor trends and innovations in artificial intelligence, automation, and software engineering.
• Introduce relevant emerging technologies and practices to improve development workflows and outcomes.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a senior software developer or in a comparable technical engineering role, with a strong track record of successful deliveries.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking, with the ability to investigate complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
• Ability to contribute to long-term product and technical strategy beyond day-to-day development activities.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with the ability to positively influence teammates and support the development of other engineers.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly, objectively, and persuasively to different audiences.
