Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack based in India.

This is a high-impact engineering role focused on building scalable, reliable, and performant software across the full technology stack.

The position is frontend-heavy while also requiring strong backend expertise and architectural ownership.

You will help shape technical direction, improve engineering standards, and solve complex problems across multiple product domains.

The role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will work with modern technologies including React, TypeScript, GraphQL, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and distributed systems.

You will also contribute to integrating AI-powered capabilities, including LLMs and intelligent workflows, where they create meaningful user value.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, performant, and reliable software across frontend and backend systems.

• Lead technical architecture for backend services and frontend microapplications, ensuring solutions are maintainable and resilient.

• Own full-stack development initiatives from backend API development through frontend integration and delivery.

• Lead technical design discussions, clarify requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and drive effective engineering decisions.

• Serve as architectural glue across multiple technical and product domains, helping teams align on scalable solutions.

• Establish and apply React performance best practices, architectural patterns, and code-level improvements across existing applications.

• Apply modern DevOps, CI/CD, cloud-native, containerization, and observability practices to improve development and delivery efficiency.

• Support service reliability, production operations, on-call ownership, and incident investigation and resolution.

• Mentor and coach engineers while contributing to higher engineering standards and stronger technical practices.

• Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver customer-focused solutions.

• Evaluate emerging technologies and introduce relevant tools, frameworks, and engineering practices where they can improve outcomes.

• Build and integrate intelligent product capabilities using LLMs, AI agents, and related AI frameworks where they provide meaningful user value.

• Partner with other engineering and product teams to integrate, optimize, and operationalize intelligent features and workflows.

• Contribute to the adoption of AI-assisted development tools and help establish effective engineering practices and guardrails around their use.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

• 8+ years of professional software development experience building scalable, high-performing, and robust applications.

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript with substantial full-stack development experience.

• Expert-level experience with modern frontend technologies such as React and TypeScript, along with GraphQL.

• Demonstrated ability to identify and implement React performance improvements and make sound architectural trade-offs.

• Experience with at least one backend language or framework such as Node.js, Java, or Python.

• Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, multithreading, and distributed systems.

• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, Solr, Vespa, or Lucene.

• Cloud-native development experience with AWS, GCP, or comparable cloud platforms.

• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, or similar containerization and orchestration technologies.

• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, tracing, and other observability practices and platforms.

• Experience with production reliability, on-call responsibilities, incident triage, and service ownership.

• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership within distributed and cross-functional engineering teams.

• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot as part of daily engineering workflows.

• Experience driving AI adoption within engineering teams, including defining best practices, establishing guardrails, evaluating tools, and improving engineering productivity, is a strong advantage.

• Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to operate effectively in a complex, distributed environment while balancing technical depth with broader architectural priorities.
