Team Lead - Python

We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead - Python with strong cloud expertise and people leadership skills to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable applications and services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving technical solutions, mentoring engineering teams, ensuring delivery excellence, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. Experience with modern cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is essential, while exposure to Databricks and data engineering technologies will be considered an added advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and secure Python-based applications and services. Define solution architecture and technical standards aligned with business requirements. Drive code quality through reviews, best practices, and development standards. Ensure high availability, performance, security, and maintainability of applications. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Cloud Engineering: Design and implement cloud-native solutions using AWS, Azure, or GCP. Build and maintain microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures. Utilise containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent tools. Work with messaging and caching technologies where applicable.
• Team Leadership and Delivery Management: Lead and mentor a team of developers, providing technical guidance and career development support. Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and technical knowledge-sharing sessions. Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery. Drive sprint planning, estimation, and release activities in Agile/Scrum environments. Monitor project risks and proactively address technical challenges.
• AI-Assisted Development: Leverage approved AI tools and platforms to improve development productivity, code quality, documentation, and troubleshooting. Encourage responsible adoption of AI-assisted coding and automation practices across the team.

Requirements:

• 8-10 years of software development experience with strong expertise in Python.
• 2+ years of technical leadership and people management experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience in designing REST APIs and microservices architectures.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerised deployments.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc. ).
• Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
• Strong understanding of design patterns, clean code principles, and software architecture.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Good-to-have experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, or PySpark.
• Exposure to data engineering and ETL pipelines.
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging platforms.
• Knowledge of serverless technologies and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or CloudWatch.
• Exposure to machine learning or AI frameworks.
• Relevant cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
