This senior-level role will drive business growth across the U.S. Federal, Department of Defense, and commercial sectors.
You will develop and execute strategic business development initiatives aligned with organizational growth objectives.
The position focuses on identifying, shaping, qualifying, capturing, and transitioning high-value technology opportunities.
You will build trusted relationships with government decision-makers, acquisition organizations, industry partners, and prime and subcontractor organizations.
Working closely with leadership, capture, sales, and delivery teams, you will translate customer needs into compelling, cost-effective solutions.
The role offers significant autonomy and strategic influence in a fast-paced environment where market intelligence and relationship building directly support growth.
This is a remote position with a minimum of 25% travel required.
Accountabilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with corporate growth goals and priorities.
- Identify, qualify, forecast, and capture new opportunities across Federal, DoD, and commercial markets, covering tactical, operational, and strategic pursuits.
- Shape customer requirements early in the acquisition lifecycle to align emerging needs with organizational capabilities.
- Manage the full business development lifecycle, from opportunity identification and qualification through capture strategy, proposal support, and contract transition.
- Establish and maintain trusted relationships with Federal and DoD decision-makers, acquisition offices, customers, industry partners, prime contractors, and subcontractors.
- Monitor government portals, notices, solicitations, and other market intelligence sources to identify opportunities for Go/No-Go consideration.
- Develop and present strategic growth opportunities supported by market, customer, and competitive analysis.
- Provide capture planning and execution support for both operational and strategic opportunities.
- Identify strategic market inflection points and develop approaches for entering new or non-traditional markets.
- Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to develop business cases and innovative, cost-effective solutions that address customer requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of business development processes, including CRM, capture, and proposal workflows.
- Provide regular opportunity updates, forecasts, progress reports, and strategic insights to leadership.
- Support the development and maintenance of strong relationships with both new and existing customers.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 10 years of experience working within the Federal IT industry, with demonstrated understanding of government technology markets.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with Federal customers, acquisition offices, government decision-makers, and industry partners.
- Demonstrated success capturing both small- and large-scale DoD contracts, preferably within information technology.
- Strong understanding of Program Objective Memorandum (POM) processes and government contracting vehicles, including IDIQs.
- Experience supporting capture planning and execution across tactical, operational, and strategic opportunities.
- Established relationships within target Federal accounts and experience collaborating with both prime Federal contractors and subcontractors.
- Ability to translate technical and organizational capabilities into compelling growth opportunities and customer solutions.
- Strong business development, opportunity shaping, market analysis, and competitive intelligence skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation abilities, with confidence engaging customers, partners, and senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to assess market conditions, competitive landscapes, and customer needs.
- Demonstrated ability to develop business cases and strategic approaches for entering new markets.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities, competing deadlines, and complex opportunities simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable working independently or collaboratively.
