This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Content Marketing Manager based in Canada.
This is a hands-on content leadership role focused on building a strong, measurable digital presence for a growing business serving small businesses across Canada. You will own social publishing, content-led SEO and emerging AI-driven search optimization while staying closely involved in writing, editing and content production. The role combines strategic thinking with execution, giving you the opportunity to shape the roadmap while personally creating and improving content. You will collaborate with design, subject-matter experts and customer-facing teams to turn insights into useful, engaging experiences. Success will be measured through audience growth, qualified traffic, engagement and conversion. Accountabilities:
- Own the social editorial calendar across priority channels, including ideation, platform-native copy, scheduling, publishing and quality control.
- Maintain a consistent publishing rhythm of approximately five posts per week across educational, brand, product, customer and timely content.
- Repurpose blogs, guides, webinars, videos, research and customer insights into channel-specific content that drives meaningful engagement and qualified traffic.
- Develop and prioritize content opportunities based on search intent, audience insights, technical SEO, AI-search behavior and organic growth opportunities.
- Create content briefs focused on the needs and questions of small business, accounting and bookkeeping audiences.
- Optimize on-page content, metadata, structure and internal linking while maintaining accuracy, clarity and a consistent brand voice.
- Partner with technical SEO/GEO and web specialists on recommendations, implementation and performance measurement.
- Write and edit short- and long-form content, including social copy, conversion copy, product and campaign content, resource updates and web copy.
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success and other customer-facing teams to identify customer questions, objections, successes and pain points that can inform the editorial roadmap.
- Edit content from internal contributors, specialists and external partners for structure, accuracy, usefulness and voice.
- Use AI responsibly to support research, ideation, repurposing and quality checks while maintaining originality, human judgment and accountability.
- Maintain editorial calendars, briefs, review processes and handoffs to ensure consistent and efficient content production.
- Establish systems for content repurposing, evergreen updates, governance and asset reuse.
- Monitor monthly content performance across audience growth, engagement, qualified traffic and conversion.
- Identify workflow bottlenecks and improve processes through clearer priorities, roles and systems.
- Approximately 7+ years of experience in content marketing, digital marketing, social content or a comparable level of experience.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality writing and editing across multiple content formats.
- Hands-on experience managing brand social channels, including editorial planning, publishing, measurement and optimization.
- Practical SEO/GEO expertise, including search intent, content briefs, on-page optimization, internal linking, content refreshes and performance analysis.
- Ability to simplify complex subjects without compromising accuracy, particularly when dealing with regulations, factual information or customer trust.
- Strong analytical skills and confidence using channel and marketing analytics to guide decisions.
- Experience with tools such as HubSpot and Agorapulse is an asset, though equivalent tools and experience are welcomed.
- Strong project management and prioritization skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and consistently deliver in a remote environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience in Canadian payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, fintech, HR technology, B2B SaaS or another complex or regulated industry is a plus.
- Experience marketing to small business owners, accountants or other professional audiences is an advantage.
- Experience with data-driven content, webinars, video or integrated campaign distribution is a plus.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted discovery, emerging search behavior and content designed to earn citations or recommendations beyond traditional search is beneficial.
- Annual salary of CAD 92,000-130,000.
