Senior Frontend Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer based in Canada.

This role is focused on building the customer-facing experiences used by millions of small businesses worldwide. You will architect and deliver high-performance web applications using modern React, TypeScript, and state-management technologies. The position combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, AI-enabled development, and frontend architecture. You will help establish engineering standards while accelerating the path from product ideas to production. Working closely with product, design, and backend teams, you will turn complex requirements into polished, reliable experiences. Accountabilities:

• Architect and build production-grade, high-performance user interfaces using React, TypeScript, Redux, or comparable modern state-management technologies.
• Design and implement customer-facing experiences that incorporate AI-powered capabilities such as conversational interfaces, content generation, and intelligent recommendations.
• Apply AI throughout the software delivery lifecycle and establish practical guardrails for reviewing generated code, verifying provenance and licensing, and protecting customer data.
• Own frontend performance, scalability, and reliability across high-traffic applications, including bundle optimization, rendering performance, and overall application responsiveness.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to move features efficiently from concept through production while maintaining high quality.
• Establish and maintain frontend engineering standards covering reusable components, design-system consistency, automated testing, code reviews, and development practices.
• Promote continuous delivery and iterative releases driven by real user feedback rather than large, infrequent launches.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on architecture, debugging, modern React practices, and effective engineering approaches.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and shipping modern, production-grade web applications at scale.
• Deep expertise in React, Redux or modern state-management approaches, and TypeScript, supported by strong JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3 fundamentals.
• Demonstrated experience using AI across the software delivery lifecycle, including selecting appropriate models, reviewing AI-generated code, understanding common failure modes, and establishing responsible usage standards.
• Knowledge of AI governance considerations such as code provenance, licensing, customer-data protection, security reviews, and appropriate boundaries for using customer information in prompts.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and working within microservices-based architectures.
• Hands-on experience with testing frameworks such as Jest and Cypress, along with building or maintaining component libraries and design systems.
• A track record of owning technical outcomes end-to-end in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where engineering quality and delivery speed are both important.
• Experience working within high-scale SaaS or consumer technology environments.
• Strong collaboration, communication, mentoring, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.
• Experience with Next.js and previous integration of LLM-powered or AI-driven product features are valuable additional qualifications.
