This is a senior technical accounting and tax role within an established public accounting environment.
You will serve as a key quality-control point, reviewing financial and tax work before it reaches clients or final filing.
The position combines technical expertise with staff guidance, client communication, and process improvement.
You will help ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across accounting and tax workflows.
The role offers the autonomy of a fully remote position, with the flexibility to work from anywhere in the U.S.
It is well suited to an experienced CPA professional who enjoys both technical review and mentoring responsibilities.

Accountabilities
Review and approve financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries prepared by accounting team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
Review and sign off on individual and business tax returns before filing, serving as a critical technical checkpoint in the tax workflow.
Identify, investigate, and correct errors, inconsistencies, or technical issues in work prepared by staff.
Provide technical guidance, feedback, and support to staff accountants to strengthen quality and professional development.
Communicate directly with clients regarding complex, sensitive, or technical accounting and tax matters.
Help develop, refine, and document internal review procedures, workflows, and quality-control processes.
Support a consistent, efficient, and high-quality accounting and tax operation within a fully remote environment.
5+ years of experience in public accounting or tax, including substantial experience performing review-level responsibilities.
Active CPA license required, or CPA requirements nearly completed.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Strong command of U.S. GAAP and individual and business taxation principles.
Demonstrated experience reviewing and approving the work of other accounting or tax professionals.
Experience working with remote or geographically distributed teams, including offshore team members, is valuable.
Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and maintain high standards in a fully remote environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, particularly when explaining technical issues to colleagues and clients.
Strong judgment, accountability, and the ability to provide constructive technical feedback.
Competitive salary of $95,000-$120,000, plus a CPA premium where applicable.
