Profile match
Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Program Manager, Technology (Software Asset Management) based in United States.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving enterprise-wide Software Asset Management transformation.

You’ll lead complex, high-risk programs that optimize software spend, strengthen compliance, and reduce licensing risk.

The role combines strategic program leadership with deep expertise in software licensing, SAM operations, and technology.

You’ll leverage automation, AI-driven analytics, and modern tooling to improve efficiency and decision-making.

Working across Technology, Finance, Security, Procurement, Legal, Engineering, and Vendor Management, you’ll bring diverse stakeholders into alignment.

You’ll also influence executive leaders through compelling, data-driven narratives and actionable recommendations.

This is an opportunity to shape SAM maturity, build scalable capabilities, and deliver measurable business value at enterprise scale.

Accountabilities

    • Lead high-impact, high-risk Software Asset Management programs, establishing governance, milestones, deliverables, and accountability across complex, cross-functional initiatives.
    • Align SAM programs with enterprise priorities including software cost containment, compliance readiness, operational efficiency, license optimization, and digital transformation.
    • Drive the use of FlexeraOne, automation, generative AI, and AI-powered analytics to streamline software lifecycle management, reduce manual effort, improve reporting accuracy, and surface actionable insights.
    • Partner with Vendor Management, Sourcing, Security, Engineering, Legal, Technology Finance, Procurement, Product, and other stakeholders to establish a unified approach to software licensing and compliance.
    • Facilitate executive-level governance and steering committees, translating complex licensing and risk data into concise, action-oriented narratives for senior leaders.
    • Manage software audits and audit-readiness programs, proactively identifying licensing exposure and developing mitigation strategies.
    • Define and track KPIs covering cost savings, compliance, license utilization, optimization, operational efficiency, and other measures of program success.
    • Identify operational gaps and recommend improvements to leadership using data, analytics, and business insights.
    • Mentor team members and provide strategic guidance that strengthens SAM capabilities, collaboration, and organizational maturity.
    • Champion continuous improvement by developing playbooks, templates, best practices, knowledge-sharing frameworks, and scalable processes.
    • Build relationships across technology and business functions, influence priorities without relying solely on formal authority, and resolve competing perspectives to maintain alignment.
    • Act as a change catalyst, encouraging adoption of new tools, processes, automation, and AI-enabled approaches across the organization.
    • Requirements

      • 7+ years of experience managing large-scale, cross-functional programs, with a strong focus on Software Asset Management.
      • 7+ years of demonstrated success delivering high-impact, multimillion-dollar programs while navigating complex challenges and exceeding stakeholder expectations.
      • Deep knowledge of SAM principles, software lifecycle management, software licensing models, compliance, and cost optimization.
      • Expert-level knowledge of FlexeraOne, including foundational understanding of its backend capabilities.
      • Strong familiarity with major on-premises and cloud software vendors and platforms, including Oracle, Google Cloud, Azure, and AWS.
      • Proven experience managing software audits and maintaining audit readiness.
      • Strong executive presence, with the ability to brief VP- and CTO-level stakeholders and turn complex data into compelling, decision-oriented stories.
      • Demonstrated ability to lead strong teams, foster healthy debate, influence stakeholders, and rally diverse groups around new technology, tooling, and processes.
      • Technical understanding of core infrastructure and software development principles.
      • Strong cross-functional relationship-building skills across Vendor Management, Security, Engineering, Product Management, Finance, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, HR, and other business functions.
      • Proven experience using AI and automation technologies such as Azure OpenAI, GitHub Actions, or Power Automate to improve SAM processes and reduce manual work.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations.
      • Experience defining, monitoring, and improving program metrics and operational KPIs.
      • Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
      • Certifications in SAM tools or frameworks, such as ITIL or IAITAM credentials including CSAM or FNMS certification, are highly desirable.
      • Familiarity with ServiceNow, Wiz, configuration management, JAMF, Intune, or similar discovery and IT service management tools is preferred.
      • Experience implementing or managing cloud-based SAM processes across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is valuable.
      • Familiarity with a purple-team security mindset and the intersection between software governance and cybersecurity risk is a plus.
