This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in India.
This is a senior individual contributor opportunity focused on building and operating critical backend systems at scale.
You will work primarily with Go and Python across services, APIs, automation tooling, and high-volume data pipelines.
The role offers substantial ownership over systems supporting enterprise network, connectivity, and security infrastructure.
You will solve complex engineering challenges with reliability, availability, performance, and maintainability in mind.
Beyond implementation, you will influence architecture, lead technical discussions, mentor engineers, and improve engineering practices.
You will also play a key role in production operations, incident response, and the long-term evolution of the platform.
The environment is fully remote, collaborative, fast-moving, and designed for engineers who want meaningful technical impact.
Accountabilities
- Own significant services, systems, or technical projects end to end, from architecture and design through deployment, operation, and long-term maintenance.
- Design and implement reliable solutions for complex engineering problems, balancing availability, scalability, performance, maintainability, and delivery speed.
- Build and evolve backend services using Go, alongside Python-based data, automation, API, and event-processing solutions.
- Develop and maintain APIs and event pipelines that connect operational systems and process telemetry from network and infrastructure environments.
- Lead production incident response, including troubleshooting, post-mortems, root-cause analysis, and implementation of durable fixes.
- Drive greenfield initiatives, determining when to prototype, deliver an MVP, or invest in foundational engineering capabilities.
- Facilitate technical design discussions, provide clear direction, challenge unnecessary complexity, and identify areas where systems require stronger foundations.
- Mentor engineers through technical guidance, thoughtful code reviews, knowledge sharing, and support for their professional development.
- Improve engineering productivity through better tooling, testing, deployment practices, and development processes, measuring the impact of these improvements.
- Collaborate across engineering teams on initiatives that cross technical or organizational boundaries.
- Contribute to team planning, delivery goals, hiring, interviewing, and other initiatives that support the broader engineering organization.
- Significant professional experience building, deploying, and operating production-grade backend systems, with deep hands-on expertise in Go and Python.
- Strong command of software engineering principles, frameworks, and large-scale codebases, with the ability to understand how services and systems interact beyond an individual component.
- Proven experience owning systems at scale, including monitoring, on-call responsibilities, incident response, troubleshooting, and post-mortem processes.
- Strong experience designing distributed systems and APIs, with sound judgment around data modeling, failure modes, scalability, performance, and engineering trade-offs.
- Ability to work across different development patterns and approaches and select solutions appropriate to the problem rather than relying on a single methodology.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and leading or facilitating technical architecture and design discussions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to challenge ideas constructively, consider different perspectives, and adapt decisions when new information emerges.
- Experience in telecom, networking, connectivity, SD-WAN, SASE, BGP, or circuit provisioning is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with event streaming, high-volume telemetry ingestion, cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, and Infrastructure as Code is advantageous.
- Experience applying AI or machine learning to operational data, including anomaly detection, classification, or automated remediation, is a plus.
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.
- 100% remote work.
- Opportunity to work on technology supporting large-scale enterprise network and infrastructure operations.
- Significant ownership and autonomy over important systems and technical decisions.
- Room for professional growth within a high-growth technology environment.
- Culture that encourages innovation, bold ideas, and technical leadership.
- Tangible opportunity to influence products, systems, and engineering practices.
- Flexible time off.
- Team events and opportunities to connect with colleagues.
- Employee referral bonus program.
