Senior Back End (Go) Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Back End (Go) Developer based in Brazil.

This is a senior backend engineering opportunity focused on building and operating large-scale digital content distribution platforms.

You will work in an environment handling millions of requests per minute, where availability, low latency, and resilience are critical.

Your work will directly influence how users consume digital content, particularly during periods of significant traffic and demand.

You will collaborate closely with routing and infrastructure teams to optimize performance across distributed systems.

The role offers deep exposure to networking, operating systems, observability, containers, and infrastructure automation.

You will contribute to a strong DevOps culture where development and operations work together to build reliable production systems.

Accountabilities

• Develop and operate distributed, scalable backend applications supporting a high-volume digital content distribution platform.
• Design and optimize systems for high availability, low latency, throughput, resilience, and efficient resource utilization.
• Work closely with routing and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable content delivery and an optimal user experience during traffic peaks.
• Apply strong knowledge of distributed systems, networking, operating systems, and performance engineering to solve complex technical challenges.
• Contribute to a DevOps-oriented environment, collaborating across development and operations to improve system reliability and delivery.
• Implement and maintain comprehensive observability using metrics, logs, dashboards, and monitoring platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, New Relic, or Datadog.
• Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Investigate production issues, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement sustainable technical improvements.
• Contribute to engineering practices that strengthen scalability, operational resilience, and system performance.

Requirements

• Solid professional experience developing distributed and scalable backend applications in production environments.
• Strong programming experience with Go, Python, or Ruby, with Go experience being particularly relevant to the role.
• Strong understanding of computer networking and high-scale systems, including latency, throughput, resource contention, and network congestion.
• Practical experience with DevOps principles and close collaboration between software development and operations teams.
• Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, New Relic, or Datadog.
• Professional experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform or comparable technologies.
• Knowledge of web servers and reverse proxies such as Nginx or Apache is a plus.
• Experience working with CDNs and an understanding of their benefits, limitations, and security requirements, including WAFs and authentication tokens, is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems, command-line tooling, system configuration, performance analysis, and user-space versus kernel-space concepts is desirable.
• Experience debugging and optimizing embedded or performance-sensitive systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of Lua or other embedded scripting languages is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an interest in understanding systems at a deep technical level.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a technically demanding environment and take ownership of production systems.
