Software Quality Assurance Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer based in India.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative QA team focused on delivering reliable, high-quality software across web applications and APIs.

You will take ownership of manual and automated testing activities across the software development lifecycle.

The role combines test strategy, hands-on execution, defect analysis, and continuous improvement of QA practices.

You will work closely with engineering and cross-functional teams to validate requirements and strengthen product quality.

Your technical expertise will help streamline testing, identify issues early, and support effective release decisions.

You will also contribute to knowledge sharing and mentor other QA professionals within the team.

Accountabilities:

• Define testing strategies for product verification and validation, and create and maintain comprehensive test plans.
• Design, develop, and execute both manual and automated test cases for web applications and APIs.
• Participate in reviews of requirements and design specifications, working closely with internal and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Analyze and summarize test results, identify anomalies, and document defects in appropriate tracking systems.
• Communicate testing status, risks, and quality findings to relevant stakeholders and recommend solutions to identified issues.
• Apply quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle and contribute to improving testing processes, tools, and practices.
• Support, guide, and mentor other QA team members while promoting effective testing standards and knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of experience testing complex software systems.
• Strong understanding of QA processes, testing methodologies, and test documentation standards.
• Hands-on experience with both manual and automated software testing.
• Practical experience with API testing tools such as Postman and performance testing tools such as JMeter or NeoLoad.
• Familiarity with test and defect management platforms such as Jira, Zephyr, qTest, or similar solutions.
• Understanding of Jenkins or a comparable CI/automation server is preferred.
• Experience with database testing and SQL is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of a programming language such as JavaScript, Java, or Python, along with automation frameworks or tools such as Tosca, Playwright, TestNG, or Selenium.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities, combined with excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and consistently meet deadlines.
