This role supports enterprise knowledge management, business process improvement, and collaborative technology initiatives within a federal healthcare environment.
You will help simplify, standardize, and automate processes while strengthening knowledge-sharing across teams and stakeholders.
The position combines SharePoint and Microsoft 365 expertise with knowledge management, business process management, analytics, and web content support.
You will work closely with users and leadership to understand operational needs and translate them into practical technology-enabled solutions.
A key focus will be building scalable collaboration environments, improving workflows, maintaining high-quality content, and supporting secure information management.
The role offers significant visibility, requiring you to manage multiple high-priority initiatives while delivering responsive customer and technical support.
Success will depend on strong communication, analytical thinking, technical expertise, and the ability to bring structure and efficiency to complex business processes.
Accountabilities
- Support a comprehensive knowledge management framework designed to simplify, standardize, automate, and improve organizational processes and knowledge-sharing practices.
- Facilitate Communities of Practice to encourage collaboration, innovation, knowledge exchange, and improved organizational performance.
- Create and maintain knowledge management tools using modern technologies and monitor repositories to identify and remove redundant, outdated, inaccurate, or inappropriate content.
- Support the management of web presence and collaborative environments, ensuring content remains accurate, accessible, secure, and aligned with applicable standards.
- Contribute to the development of knowledge management policies, plans, procedures, taxonomies, knowledge audits, knowledge maps, and needs assessments.
- Help capture and codify both tacit and explicit organizational knowledge and ensure technology solutions align with strategic objectives.
- Consult with stakeholders at multiple organizational levels to understand requirements and design customized SharePoint Online solutions, including sites, lists, libraries, workflows, and portal pages.
- Develop tools and solutions that improve operational performance, reduce manual effort, and maximize organizational return on investment.
- Support Business Process Management initiatives through process design, mapping, modeling, documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Integrate BPM processes with portal capabilities such as security, document management, permissions, and group management to improve efficiency.
- Participate in Integrated Product Teams and other working groups to capture and document knowledge management and business process requirements.
- Support the administration and oversight of collaborative environments, helping protect personally identifiable information, procurement-sensitive information, and other restricted data.
- Monitor and manage help-desk requests through an executive support ticketing system, ensuring users receive accurate and timely assistance.
- Develop and deliver individual or group training on knowledge management, business process management, SharePoint, and collaboration tools.
- Support web content management, public and private domain requests, content updates, and Section 508 accessibility compliance.
- Assist users with SharePoint and Microsoft Teams capabilities, including portal pages, files, folders, lists, workflows, training materials, and collaboration best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of relevant professional experience.
- Extensive knowledge or understanding of knowledge management practices, collaborative portal design, site development, maintenance, and content organization.
- Strong experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams, including creating and deploying sites, managing permissions, configuring web parts, and administering SharePoint Lists.
- Experience using Microsoft PowerApps and Power Automate to streamline processes, automate workflows, and improve communication and operational efficiency.
- Knowledge of desktop publishing and graphics tools such as Photoshop and Microsoft Visio, along with experience using Microsoft Power BI for reporting and visualization.
- Understanding of Section 508 accessibility requirements and their application to organizational web content.
- Ability to design SharePoint solutions around business requirements, including custom sites, lists, libraries, workflows, permissions, and collaborative features.
- Strong understanding of SharePoint permission groups and unique-level permissions across multiple sites.
- Experience deploying SharePoint Lists, PowerApps, and automated workflows to address inefficient or labor-intensive processes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate accurate information clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple high-visibility projects simultaneously while maintaining strong organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the judgment to understand user needs and recommend appropriate technology-enabled solutions.
- Ability to develop and manage web content that effectively serves both government and civilian users.
- Experience providing user training, technical guidance, documentation, and ongoing support for collaboration platforms.
- CompTIA certifications are preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a professional environment requiring extended computer use, written and verbal communication, and regular stakeholder interaction.
