This role supports day-to-day accounting activities and month-end close processes within a specialized manufacturing and contracting environment. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will help maintain accurate financial records while supporting departmental budgeting, compliance, and financial reporting. You will work closely with internal departments to review budgets and ensure financial activities are properly documented and managed. The position also involves certified payroll support, prevailing wage analysis, sales and use tax filings, and accounts payable reconciliation. Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and integrity are essential to maintaining accurate and compliant financial operations. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity with a consistent Monday-to-Friday schedule.
Accountabilities:
- Support day-to-day accounting and finance activities under the direction of the Director of Finance.
- Review and analyze departmental budgets in collaboration with relevant teams to support accurate financial planning and oversight.
- Determine applicable prevailing wages to support accurate certified payroll processing and regulatory compliance.
- Assist with sales and use tax filings and related compliance activities.
- Perform accounts payable reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as needed.
- Support month-end closing activities and contribute to accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Assist with other accounting, finance, and compliance activities as assigned by the Director of Finance.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality, accuracy, and integrity when handling financial and business information.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably within construction, contracting, manufacturing, or a related environment.
- Strong knowledge of prevailing wage regulations, financial reporting, and accrual accounting practices.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, mathematical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Google Workspace.
- Experience with accounting software such as Rootstock or QuickBooks is preferred.
- Strong understanding of data privacy standards and the ability to handle sensitive financial information appropriately.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and accountability.
- Ability to work effectively onsite and collaborate with multiple departments.
- Annual salary of USD $65,000 - $70,000.
- Full-time, non-exempt employment.
- Monday-Friday schedule, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
