Techno-Functional SAP HCM Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Techno-Functional SAP HCM Consultant based in India.

This role is an opportunity to combine SAP HCM functional expertise with strong ABAP development capabilities in a techno-functional environment.

You will bridge HR business requirements and technical execution, helping deliver reliable solutions across SAP HCM processes and integrations.

The position covers configuration, custom development, debugging, performance optimization, and technical support across complex SAP environments.

You will work extensively with SAP HCM PA and OM, ABAP, HCM logical databases, SAP Gateway, and OData services.

The role also involves integrating SAP HCM with external applications and APIs while translating business needs into scalable technical solutions.

You will operate independently across development and troubleshooting activities while preparing clear functional and technical specifications.

This is a project-based opportunity suited to an experienced SAP professional comfortable working remotely within UK-aligned hours.

Accountabilities:

• Configure, maintain, and support SAP HCM Personnel Administration (PA) and Organizational Management (OM).
• Work with Infotypes, Dynamic Actions, Enterprise and Personnel Structures, Object Relationships, and Evaluation Paths.
• Develop ABAP Reports, Function Modules, RFCs, interfaces, and data migration programs.
• Develop and maintain solutions using HCM Logical Databases, including PNP and PNPCE.
• Design and implement BAPIs, BAdIs, User Exits, Enhancements, and Object-Oriented ABAP solutions.
• Design and develop SAP Gateway OData services using SEGW.
• Configure Entity Types, Entity Sets, Associations, CRUD operations, and data mappings within OData services.
• Integrate SAP HCM with external applications, APIs, and other enterprise systems.
• Perform advanced ABAP debugging, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning.
• Translate business requirements into appropriate functional and technical solutions.
• Prepare detailed functional and technical specifications for development and implementation activities.
• Independently manage development, integration, troubleshooting, and application support tasks.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of relevant experience as a SAP HCM techno-functional consultant or in a closely related SAP role.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP HCM Personnel Administration (PA) and Organizational Management (OM).
• Strong SAP ABAP development experience in enterprise environments.
• Solid knowledge of HCM Function Modules, BAPIs, BAdIs, RFCs, and enhancement frameworks.
• Strong experience working with PNP and PNPCE logical databases.
• Hands-on experience with Object-Oriented ABAP.
• Experience with SAP Gateway, OData services, and SEGW.
• Strong understanding of Entity Types, Entity Sets, Associations, CRUD operations, and data mapping.
• Proven ability to perform advanced debugging, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization.
• Experience integrating SAP HCM with external applications and APIs.
• Ability to understand HR business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities across development, integration, and support.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Good to Have:

• Experience integrating SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central with SAP HCM.
• Knowledge of SAP CPI / Integration Suite.
• Experience with SAP Fiori, UI5, and OData consumption.
• Exposure to SAP Time Management, Payroll, or CATS.
