This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP of Product & Engineering - Back of House based in United States.
This senior leadership role owns both Product and Engineering for a complex, multi-service Back of House domain within a hospitality technology platform. You will define product strategy, shape the roadmap, and lead the engineering organization responsible for building and operating mission-critical systems. The role combines strategic product leadership with deep technical and organizational ownership. You will guide globally distributed teams across multiple time zones while partnering closely with senior leadership. A key focus will be improving reliability, performance, and scalability without compromising continuous customer delivery. You will also lead the integration of AI into core product experiences, identifying opportunities that meaningfully improve how hotel teams work.
Accountabilities:
- Own the end-to-end Product and Engineering strategy for the Back of House domain, including product direction, roadmap, technical strategy, and execution across a complex multi-service architecture.
- Lead globally distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones, establishing structures, processes, and operating practices that enable teams to collaborate and deliver effectively.
- Build and develop a strong management layer while mentoring senior individual contributors and fostering a high-performing, accountable, and healthy team culture.
- Drive ongoing improvements in platform reliability, performance, scalability, and technical debt while maintaining continuous product delivery.
- Determine where AI can create meaningful value within the Back of House product and lead the delivery of AI-powered capabilities that improve day-to-day workflows for hotel teams.
- Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to align product priorities, engineering investments, and business objectives.
- Make informed technical and product decisions across the domain, balancing innovation, operational reliability, customer needs, and long-term scalability.
- Champion automation, modern engineering practices, and continuous improvement across Product and Engineering.
- Significant experience with combined Product and Engineering ownership at VP or equivalent senior leadership level, with demonstrated end-to-end accountability for a complex product domain.
- Proven experience leading globally distributed engineering organizations across multiple time zones, including experience managing managers and developing senior technical talent.
- Strong operating experience within a scaling SaaS environment, ideally from Series C through pre-IPO or a recently public organization.
- Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams and cultures while maintaining strong standards for reliability, performance, delivery, and technical excellence.
- Hands-on AI product experience equivalent to an advanced level of AI fluency, including having shipped AI as a core component of a product rather than simply using AI to improve personal productivity.
- Strong technical understanding of modern software architecture, infrastructure, AI models, and the engineering considerations involved in deploying AI-powered products at scale.
- Exceptional product judgment, strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to make clear decisions in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience working in hospitality technology, such as property management systems, point-of-sale, channel management, or revenue management, is a strong advantage.
- Experience in travel technology, including airlines, global distribution systems, or travel management platforms, or comparable high-availability B2B technology environments, is valued.
- Founder or early-stage builder experience, particularly taking products from initial concept through scale, is a plus.
- Base salary range of $280,000-$350,000 USD for the United States.
- Unlimited paid holiday.
- Participation in a company share program.
- Paid parental leave, including six months fully paid for primary caregivers and two months for secondary caregivers after one year of service.
- Annual learning budget of €300, with additional support available for high performers.
- Dedicated monthly time for professional development, learning, and personal growth.
- Work-from-anywhere flexibility, including the ability to work abroad for several weeks each year.
- Relocation options available after one year of service.
- Flexible and hybrid working options.
- Home office setup budget and monthly work-from-home allowance.
- Access to Claude tokens to support workflow automation and more efficient ways of working.
- Additional location-specific benefits may include healthcare, retirement plans, team events, social activities, and other local perks.
