Software / Staff Engineer

The candidate will have responsibilities across the following functions:

Build and Ship:

• Own and deliver critical product initiatives end-to-end.
• Write high-quality code across frontend and backend systems.
• Take ideas from concept to production and drive measurable impact.

Architecture and Technical Leadership:

• Define scalable architectures and technical direction.
• Make pragmatic decisions balancing speed, reliability, and maintainability.
• Identify and address scaling, performance, and security challenges early.

Quality and Reliability:

• Ensure systems are resilient, observable, and production-ready.
• Drive engineering excellence through strong testing, monitoring, and operational practices.
• Champion simplicity and long-term maintainability.

Product and Ownership:

• Work closely with product, design, and customers to solve real business problems.
• Own outcomes rather than just implementation.
• Drive execution in ambiguous and fast-moving environments.

AI-Native Engineering:

• Use AI extensively to accelerate development, debugging, testing, and technical decision-making.
• Help define best practices for AI-enabled software development at Jodo.

Requirements:

• 4+ years.
• Strong hands-on experience in Go and Python.
• Startup background.
• Proven experience building products/systems from scratch.
• Strong ownership and ability to drive initiatives independently.
• A strong builder who has shipped products used by real customers.
• Comfortable working across the stack (Python, Go and JavaScript) and owning features from idea to production.
• Strong grasp of system design, APIs, data flows, reliability, and scalable architectures.
• Uses AI extensively to code, debug, test, and move faster.
• High ownership, strong product sense, and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
