As a Staff Software Engineer at John Deere in Indaiatuba/SP, you will help shape the future of our customer and dealer digital experiences by building the platforms that power them. We are looking for a hands-on Senior Platform Engineer to design, implement, and evolve cloud-native infrastructure and platform capabilities that enable rapid software delivery, operational excellence, and world-class reliability. You will work closely with development teams to create scalable, secure, and resilient solutions that support mission-critical applications and drive business value globally.
Main Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement platform capabilities that enhance developer productivity, improve infrastructure resilience, strengthen observability, and increase automation across the software delivery lifecycle.
Build, support, and continuously improve Kubernetes-based platforms that power customer-facing and dealer-facing digital products and services.
Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, enabling secure, efficient, and reliable software delivery.
Provide production support for critical applications and platforms, including incident management, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and continuous reliability improvements.
Design and implement monitoring, logging, alerting, self-healing mechanisms, disaster recovery strategies, and multi-region failover capabilities to ensure high availability and operational excellence.
Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to promote and implement DevOps, DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and cloud-native best practices.
Drive platform standards, automation frameworks, and operational processes that improve scalability, security, and maintainability across the technology landscape.
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, technical planning sessions, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Leverage AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to accelerate software delivery, improve engineering efficiency, and enhance platform operations.
Mentor engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence, innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.
Skills You Need
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent.
Advanced English with the ability to influence decisions, lead technical discussions, present complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, and collaborate effectively within global teams.
Proven experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or DevSecOps environments.
Strong hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting Kubernetes-based container platforms in production environments.
- Experience working with public cloud platforms, preferably AWS, including cloud-native services and infrastructure management.
- Proficiency in building, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar automation tools.
- Experience supporting highly available, scalable, and resilient platforms, including disaster recovery, fault tolerance, and infrastructure reliability practices.
- Software development and scripting experience using languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or Node.js.
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent.
- Experience implementing monitoring, observability, logging, and alerting solutions for cloud-native applications and platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud security principles, DevSecOps practices, identity and access management, and secure software delivery.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
- Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
