Maintenance Supervisor
What You Will Do
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will lead a team of maintenance technicians to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment and site facilities. You will be responsible for coordinating planned and reactive maintenance activities, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring maintenance standards are consistently achieved. Working closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams, you will support operational performance by minimising downtime, improving equipment reliability, and maintaining a strong safety culture. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will balance people management, technical expertise, and operational priorities to deliver business objectives.

How You Will Do It
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance technicians.
- Coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure equipment availability and operational efficiency.
- Plan and prioritise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules.
- Monitor maintenance performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance reliability.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Support root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and improve asset performance.
- Manage contractor activities and ensure compliance with site procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records through the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and cost reduction.
What We Are Looking For
Required:
- Proven experience in a maintenance leadership or supervisory position within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance principles.
- Experience coordinating planned preventative maintenance programmes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple activities effectively.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Experience working with CMMS systems and maintenance reporting.
Preferred:
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
- Experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Continuous Improvement experience, including Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent safety qualification.
