AMER & Global Sr. Event Operations Manager
Location: Onsite - South San Francisco, CA
What this job involves
As the AMER & Global Sr. Event Operations Manager at JLL, this role blends hands-on regional operational execution across the Americas with global operational governance, reporting, and dotted-line coordination across international event teams.
Based onsite in South San Francisco, CA, this position balances operational rigor with a hospitality-first mindset to deliver memorable, safe, and brand-aligned outcomes-ranging from executive convenings and client hospitality to site-wide culture moments and large-scale global initiatives. Serving as the primary operational partner to the Global Events Program Lead and client leadership, this role owns end-to-end event execution across the Americas while establishing and maintaining global operational standards, consolidated reporting, and cross-regional alignment across EMEA and APAC.

What your day-to-day will look like
- AMER (includes Latin America)Execution Ownership: Lead end-to-end operational planning, logistics, and execution for all AMER workplace events and high-visibility programs, including space planning, AV/technical setup, run-of-show standards, and on-site day-of coordination.
- Global Operational Standards & Governance: Draft, refine, and enforce global operational standards, including SLAs, operational audit cadences, data quality standards, and standardized execution playbooks across all regions.
- Cross-Regional Dotted-Line Coordination: Provide dotted-line operational leadership, guidance, and coordination to Event Managers across EMEA and APAC to drive global alignment, consistency, and process efficiency.
- Consolidated Operational Audits & Reporting: Oversee global event tool health and intake systems, conducting consolidated operational audits and delivering cross-regional reporting, metric analyses, and executive dashboard reviews across AMER, EMEA, and APAC.
- Cross-Regional Escalation Triage: Serve as the central escalation point for complex operational challenges, policy exceptions, and site-level logistical issues across all regions, investigating root causes to drive continuous improvement.
- AMER Team Leadership & Coaching: Direct, coach, and support regional site points of contact, Experience Managers, and Event Coordinators across AMER locations, fostering an inclusive environment where teams thrive.
- Weekly Briefings & Operational Readiness: Lead weekly event briefings across AMER sites and oversee global operational readiness for major signature initiatives, ensuring seamless cross-functional alignment.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Partner closely with client leadership, internal teams, and key vendor partners (AV/IT, Corporate Security, Facilities, Catering, and external suppliers), overseeing contract governance, supplier negotiations, and on-site vendor performance.
- Capacity & Policy Enforcement: Execute and enforce event capacity frameworks globally, managing capacity forecasting, blackout/soft-blackout window enforcement, and standardized decline guidance.
- Financial & Risk Management: Track and manage event budgets, forecasts, and post-event financial reconciliations while enforcing health, safety, and risk management practices.
Required qualifications
- 6+ years of progressive experience in corporate event planning, event operations, or workplace experience across multi-site or global portfolios in fast-paced corporate environments.
- Proven execution leadership: Demonstrated track record of leading end-to-end operational execution for complex, high-volume, or high-profile events (run-of-show development, AV requirements integration, space management, and on-site execution).
- Global standards & process development: Proven experience drafting and implementing operational SOPs, unified SLAs, audit cadences, data quality standards, and standardized execution frameworks across distributed or international teams.
- Cross-regional coordination & team leadership: Demonstrated experience managing or coordinating cross-functional and matrixed regional teams (direct management or dotted-line coordination across global regions).
- Escalation & risk management: Superior stakeholder management and escalation triage capabilities, with experience serving as a primary liaison to client leaders and resolving operational issues under tight timelines.
- Data-informed approach to operational efficiency, including attendee feedback analysis, intake tracking, and event performance measurement.
- Proven capability to lead teams through change, complexity, and ambiguity in a highly collaborative global network.
- Vendor & budget management: Strong track record managing external vendors, contract negotiations, and budget management (forecasting, tracking, and post-event reconciliation).
- Systems & analytics expertise: Deep experience utilizing event management software, workplace ticketing request systems (e.g., Summit, Jira), and analytical reporting tools to deliver consolidated executive dashboards.
- Cross-functional partner alignment: Strong cross-functional management skills with AV/IT, Corporate Security, Facilities, and Food & Beverage/Catering teams.
- Location & Travel Flexibility: Willingness to work onsite in South San Francisco, CA, with flexibility to accommodate variable hours for international team overlap across regions, and ability to travel up to 30% across portfolio locations for event execution and operational audits.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience managing workplace event operations within high-growth technology, fast-paced corporate, or experiential marketing environments.
- Experience supporting corporate hospitality, executive-level programs, or client summits across a global footprint.
- Solid understanding of virtual and hybrid event production, workplace production technology, and AV systems.
- Experience developing scalable standardized toolkits, templates, site capability profiles, and operational playbooks.

Estimated compensation for this position:
160,000.00 - 175,000.00 USD per yearThis range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
