Position Summary  

Kaseya is seeking a Staff Software Engineer - DevTest / QA Automation to design, build, and maintain robust automated testing capabilities across enterprise software platforms. 

This is a hands-on software engineering role focused on test automation and engineering quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong programming background and be capable of building test libraries, automation frameworks, test infrastructure, and large scale automated test suites. 

The role requires an engineer who can leverage AI assisted development tools and coding agents to accelerate automation, analyze existing codebases, generate and validate test scenarios, and rapidly expand automated coverage. The candidate should be comfortable working across application code, test infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, and production troubleshooting. 

The successful candidate will be able to take an existing codebase and, with limited direction, deliver hundreds of meaningful automated test cases within weeks, while maintaining quality, reliability, and maintainability. 

Key Responsibilities  

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks, test libraries, utilities, and reusable automation components. 

• Build comprehensive automated test suites for enterprise SaaS applications, APIs, services, integrations, and distributed systems. 

• Write production-quality code to automate functional, integration, regression, API, and system-level testing. 

• Analyze existing application codebases and rapidly identify opportunities for automated test coverage. 

• Develop and execute large-scale automation initiatives capable of delivering hundreds of automated test cases in a short timeframe. 

• Leverage AI coding assistants and AI agents extensively to accelerate test development, test generation, code analysis, debugging, and automation engineering. 

• Validate AI-generated code and test cases through appropriate engineering practices, including code review, execution, debugging, and test-result analysis. 

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and test execution infrastructure. 

• Work with CI/CD runners, build systems, deployment pipelines, test environments, and automation reporting. 

• Develop automation that can run reliably in continuous integration and deployment environments. 

• Troubleshoot automation failures, application issues, environment problems, and production defects using logs, metrics, traces, code, and system behavior. 

• Participate in production troubleshooting and issue reproduction, including supporting incidents or reproducing customer issues outside standard working hours when required. 

• Collaborate closely with software engineers, architects, product managers, DevOps, operations, and other QA/DevTest engineers to identify quality risks and improve engineering practices. 

• Contribute to improvements in testability, observability, reliability, performance, and maintainability of the product. 

• Identify gaps in existing test coverage and proactively create automation to prevent regression. 

• Review application and test code and provide technical feedback on quality, maintainability, reliability, and automation effectiveness. 

• Continuously improve automation speed, stability, coverage, and execution efficiency. 

Required Qualifications  

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 

• 10+ years of software engineering, SDET, DevTest, or QA automation experience, with strong hands-on programming experience. 

• Programming skills in one or more languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar. 

• Demonstrated experience building automation frameworks, test libraries, reusable testing components, and automation infrastructure. 

• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, data structures, APIs, databases, debugging, and version control. 

• Experience developing automated tests for APIs, backend services, web applications, distributed systems, or enterprise software. 

• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution, including familiarity with CI/CD runners and build/deployment infrastructure. 

• Hands-on experience with AWS or other cloud environments, with the ability to troubleshoot applications and test environments in the cloud. 

• Experience troubleshooting complex application and production issues using logs, metrics, traces, database queries, and codelevel debugging. 

• Ability to understand an existing codebase and independently build significant automated test coverage. 

• Demonstrated ability to use AIassisted development tools/coding agents as part of daytodayengineering and test automation work. 

• Strong analytical and debugging skills with the ability to identify root causes rather than simply report failures. 

• Strong understanding of test automation principles, test design, regression testing, and automation reliability. 

• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and crossfunctional teams. 

• Willingness to support production issue reproduction and troubleshooting outside standard working hours when required. 

Preferred Qualifications  

• Experience working on enterprise SaaS, IT management, cybersecurity, endpoint management, RMM, or other complex software platforms. 

• Deep experience with AWS services and cloud-hosted, datacenterhosted, or hybrid environments. 

• Experience designing and maintaining large-scale SDET/DevTest automation frameworks. 

• Experience with API automation, integration testing, contract testing, service virtualization, or distributed-system testing. 

• Experience with tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, REST-assured, pytest, JUnit, TestNG, or equivalent technologies. 

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized test environments. 

• Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or equivalent. 

• Experience with SQL and relational databases, including writing queries for test validation and production troubleshooting. 

• Experience using AI coding agents to perform tasks such as code generation, test generation, codebase analysis, debugging, refactoring, and test optimization. 

• Understanding of application security, scalability, reliability, observability, and distributed-system behavior. 

• Experience building automation capable of operating at significant scale without excessive flakiness or maintenance overhead. 

• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to independently drive automation initiatives from design through implementation and production adoption.
