QA Engineer (Manual & Automation)

As a QA Engineer, you will take ownership of quality assurance across our core financial products, web portals, and mobile apps. You will combine manual testing precision with test automation to validate complex financial workflows, core banking integrations, API transaction flows, and edge cases before release.

Responsibilities:

• Test Strategy and Planning: Design, write, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios covering web, mobile (Android/iOS), and backend services.
• Financial Workflow / Customer Journey Validation: Rigorously test end-to-end BFSI scenarios including digital journeys, operations workflow, payment gateway integrations, reconciliation process, KYC verification, interest/fee calculations, and settlement engines.
• API and Backend Testing: Perform functional and regression testing on microservices and REST APIs using Postman, JMeter, or automated script execution.
• Defect Management: Track, report, and prioritise bugs using Jira; collaborate closely with DevOps and engineering teams to ensure swift resolution.
• Data Integrity and Compliance: Validate data accuracy across database systems (SQL) and verify compliance with financial regulatory norms and data protection guidelines.

Requirements:

• Experience: 3 to 4 years of QA experience, with mandatory experience in the BFSI / FinTech domain (banking, payments, lending, or insurance).
• Testing Expertise: Strong hands-on experience in both Manual Testing (exploratory, test design, boundary value analysis) and Automation Testing.
• API Testing: Demonstrated skill in API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured) and understanding of HTTP methods, response codes, and payload formats (JSON/XML).
• Automation Tech Stack: Proficiency in Java or Python for automation frameworks (Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium).
• Database Skills: Solid proficiency in writing SQL queries to perform backend database validation and test data preparation.
• Tooling: Familiarity with Git/GitHub, Jira, and integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins).

Nice-to-Haves:

• Knowledge of security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10) or exposure to basic performance/load testing (JMeter/K6).
• Exposure to mobile app automation testing on real device clouds (BrowserStack/SauceLabs).
