Introduction

Are you looking for a challenging internship where you can contribute to KLM’s financial development? We’re looking for an enthusiastic intern who can not only generate insights from data, but also actively help us think about how to make processes smarter, more efficient, and more innovative.

What are you going to do?

In this role, you’ll work on improving financial processes, develop dashboards, and help the team generate data-driven insights. You’ll be a full member of the Corporate Control team and have the opportunity to make an impact with your own ideas.

During your internship, your responsibilities will include:

• Analyzing financial data and identifying opportunities to improve processes
• Developing and optimizing Power BI dashboards for management reporting
• Contributing ideas and helping implement innovations in financial processes
• Turning data into clear insights and recommendations
• Supporting the Corporate Control team with its day-to-day work
• Presenting analyses and dashboards to senior stakeholders

KLM’s Finance organization is unique. Where else are billions invested in a new fleet, or millions spent on aircraft maintenance? Whatever ambitions we want to achieve, they all come with a price tag. Fortunately, Finance provides the right information, data, and insights. We keep a close eye on costs, but also on issues such as high levels of absenteeism or inefficient workflows. Ultimately, everything falls within our field of expertise. This makes us essential to the organization’s financial success.

Your desk will be in the Corporate Control department at KLM’s headquarters. Among other things, this department is responsible for financial planning and reporting across the entire KLM Group. Every day, we monitor KLM’s strategic and financial progress and keep track of the health of our figures.

You’ll get an inside look at the entire KLM organization and discover the many different sides of the business. You’ll also learn how its financial processes are organized.

Your profile

You’re curious and analytical, with a strong interest in data and process improvement.

You also:

• Are pursuing a university degree in a finance- or data-related field (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Data Science)
• Have an interest in data analysis and process optimization
• Preferably have experience with Power BI and Excel
• Take a proactive approach and suggest ideas for improvement and innovation
• Work well both independently and as part of a team
• Have strong communication skills
• Speak and write Dutch and English well
