Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join the Cargo Digital Products team. This is an execution-focused role for a self-driven individual contributor who is passionate about software quality and enjoys being directly involved in testing activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for validating business functionality, executing manual and automated testing, identifying defects, ensuring production readiness, and continuously improving product quality across Cargo's digital platforms. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in software quality assurance, strong automation testing skills, and practical experience using AI-powered testing tools.

The core responsibilities for the job include the following:

Hands-On Test Execution:

• Independently execute day-to-day testing activities across multiple digital products and initiatives.
• Design, create, maintain, and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.
• Conduct functional, integration, system, regression, exploratory, and user acceptance testing.
• Validate feature releases, enhancements, configurations, and defect fixes.
• Reproduce, document, and verify issues identified by users, business teams, or production support teams.
• Ensure business requirements are fully tested before release.

Quality Assurance and Delivery:

• Define test strategies and test plans for projects and sprint deliverables.
• Participate actively in backlog grooming, sprint planning, story refinement, demos, and retrospectives.
• Review requirements and acceptance criteria to ensure completeness and testability.
• Identify quality risks early and recommend mitigation actions.
• Ensure quality gates are met prior to production deployment.
• Support production validation activities following releases.

Business Process Testing:

• Validate business workflows across Cargo digital products, including Cargo Booking Portal, Cargo Website, Quote-to-Book Processes, Shipment Tracking, API Gateway Integrations, Notification Services, Interline Booking Workflows, and Customer Self-Service Features.
• Other cargo digital products and integrations.
• Ensure product functionality aligns with business rules, customer requirements, and operational processes.

Test Automation:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites.
• Build automated UI, API, and regression testing capabilities.
• Improve test automation coverage and execution efficiency.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Support continuous testing practices within Agile delivery teams.
• Maintain reusable automation frameworks and test assets.

API and Integration Testing:

• Validate REST APIs, microservices, and system integrations.
• Test end-to-end workflows involving internal and external systems.
• Validate API requests, responses, payloads, authentication mechanisms, and business rule execution.
• Verify integrations with customer portals, third-party platforms, internal enterprise systems, and digital products.
• Analyze logs, payloads, and data flows to troubleshoot integration issues.

Performance and Non-Functional Testing:

• Support performance, reliability, and scalability testing activities.
• Validate application behavior under varying loads and operational scenarios.
• Identify and report non-functional risks affecting user experience or system stability.

AI-Assisted Testing:

• Leverage AI-powered tools to improve testing effectiveness and productivity.
• Use GenAI solutions to: Generate test cases and test scenarios, Create automation scripts.
• Analyze requirements for coverage gaps, identify regression risks, Generate test data.
• Support exploratory testing activities.
• Assist with defect analysis and documentation.
• Stay current with emerging AI testing capabilities and recommend practical adoption opportunities.

Defect Management and Reporting:

• Log, track, prioritize, and validate defects throughout the development lifecycle.
• Perform root cause analysis and support resolution activities.
• Track and report testing progress, defect trends, and quality metrics.
• Provide regular visibility of quality risks and release readiness.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in air cargo, freight forwarding, logistics, supply chain, transportation, or airline domains is highly desirable but not mandatory.
• Candidates with strong quality engineering, automation, API testing, and integration testing experience from other industries are encouraged to apply.
• The ability to quickly learn complex business processes and domain concepts will be considered equally important. The role requires close collaboration with product owners, business analysts, developers, UX designers, and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• 7-10 years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance.
• Minimum 4 years of practical automation testing experience.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Proven experience testing enterprise-scale web applications, APIs, integrations, and digital platforms.
• Demonstrated experience working closely with product owners, developers, and business stakeholders.
• Experience in air cargo, freight forwarding, logistics, supply chain, transportation, or airline domains is highly desirable.
• Candidates with strong QA, automation, API testing, and enterprise application testing experience from other industries will also be considered.
• Knowledge of IATA cargo standards, cargo booking processes, shipment lifecycle management, or airline industry workflows will be an advantage but is not a mandatory requirement.

Technical Skills:

• Hands-on experience with the following technologies and tools: Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress; Postman; REST API Testing; SQL; JIRA; Azure DevOps; Git; CI/CD Pipelines; and JMeter or equivalent performance testing tools.
• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python, or similar programming/scripting languages is advantageous.

AI and Modern QA Skills:

• Practical experience using AI-enabled quality engineering capabilities, including GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT or Enterprise AI Assistants, AI-Based Test Automation Platforms, AI-Assisted Test Case Generation, and Self-Healing Test Automation Frameworks
• Candidates should be able to demonstrate real-world examples of how AI has improved their testing productivity, coverage, defect identification, or automation efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a Related Field.
• ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Certification.
• Certification in Test Automation or Agile Testing.
• Experience within air cargo, airline, freight forwarding, logistics, supply chain, or transportation organizations is preferred.
• Exposure to AI/ML testing methodologies and modern quality engineering practices is advantageous.

• Experience in air cargo, logistics, or airline domains is a plus, but strong candidates from other industries with relevant QA expertise are equally encouraged to apply.
