Chentronics is hiring for an Associate Product Manager. In this position, you will be responsible for leading product lifecycle management, market intelligence, customer insights, and new product commercialization activities related to Ignition and Flame Safety Systems for industrial markets. This role will serve as the primary bridge between customers, markets, engineering, operations, and commercial leadership while helping identify and develop future growth opportunities for Chentronics.
The Associate Product Manager will be responsible for translating market needs into actionable product strategies, coordinating product development efforts, and expanding Chentronics' application expertise in adjacent markets such as refining, petrochemical, process heating, and other fuel-fired equipment applications.
The preferred locations for this role are Norwich, NY, or Tulsa, OK. This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship.

Chentronics, LLC traces our beginnings to our inception in 1974 in Norwich, New York; when our first products consisted of spark-gap-tube based ignition systems. Since then we’ve been at the forefront of innovation, leading the industry into the age of modern, semiconductor based exciter modules and full-featured flame scanners. We remain committed to quality, innovation, solving complex ignition problems and creating value for our customers. 100% of our products are manufactured from our modern 50,000 square-foot design, test and manufacturing facility in Norwich, New York.
What You Will Do
- Identify and develop opportunities to improve product performance, reduce costs, strengthen customer value propositions, and drive long-term portfolio growth.
- Lead product lifecycle management activities including portfolio optimization, product positioning, commercialization planning, and obsolescence management.
- Serve as the commercial owner of New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives, coordinating requirements, priorities, stakeholder alignment, and launch execution across cross-functional teams.
- Gather and translate Voice of Customer (VOC) insights into product requirements, business cases, development priorities, and growth opportunities.
- Conduct market research, competitive benchmarking, and industry analysis to evaluate market size, customer needs, emerging trends, and future growth opportunities.
- Develop and maintain differentiated value propositions, application expertise, and commercial positioning strategies that drive customer adoption and business growth.
- Lead product cost reduction initiatives and support annual cost roll activities in partnership with Engineering, Operations, and Procurement teams.
- Monitor industry developments, emerging technologies, and adjacent market applications to identify opportunities where Chentronics solutions can create value.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, and Technical Support teams to align product strategy with customer needs and business objectives.
- Support commercialization and market development efforts through customer engagement, technical presentations, industry conferences, training initiatives, and trade show participation. Travel up to 25%.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field; or equivalent technical and product management experience.
- Experience with industrial combustion, ignition, flame detection, burner systems, process heating equipment, or related industrial technologies.
- Experience leading or influencing cross-functional initiatives involving Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Sales, and Marketing teams.
- Experience gathering customer requirements and translating technical needs into product plans, business cases, or development priorities.
- Experience presenting technical and commercial information to customers, business leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience analyzing market, customer, competitive, or product data to identify business opportunities and inform recommendations.
What Will Put You Ahead
- 5+ years’ experience in Product Management, Application Engineering, Product Development, Market Development, or Commercial Product Leadership.
- Experience supporting power generation, refining, petrochemical, LNG, process heating, chemical processing, environmental, marine, aerospace, or related industrial markets.
- Experience leading product commercialization, product launches, portfolio management, or lifecycle management initiatives.
- Experience conducting market research, competitive analysis, voice-of-customer activities, and strategic product planning.
- Experience working with OEMs, EPCs, channel partners, or strategic industrial end users.
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRM’s
For this role, we anticipate paying $95,000 - $125,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
