Kordia is a New Zealand state owned technology company providing networks, broadcast transmission and cybersecurity. It operates critical communications infrastructure including radio and television transmission sites. The company also runs a well known local security consultancy.
For more than 65 years, Kordia has proudly kept New Zealanders and their businesses safe, connected and ready for the future. Operating across New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific, we deliver mission-critical solutions spanning broadcasting, telecommunications infrastructure, maritime communications, cloud and cyber security. With a talented team of more than 450 experts, we're trusted by many of New Zealand's largest organisations to protect what matters most.

Ko tā mātou mahi - About the role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a complex network transformation project within Kordia's telecommunications environment on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a significant technical and operational project involving network infrastructure, service migration and changes to how network services are managed and supported. You'll take ownership of project delivery, bringing together technical and operational teams to manage complex dependencies, coordinate activities and ensure changes are delivered safely, with minimal disruption to customers and services.

Working closely with network engineering, operations and senior stakeholders, you'll play a key role in delivering a successful network transformation while maintaining the reliability of our critical network infrastructure.

Ko tō mahi - What you will do

You'll lead the end-to-end delivery of a complex project, with responsibility for planning, coordination, governance and execution.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, milestones, budgets, resources and dependencies.
  • Lead network transition and migration activities, coordinating technical readiness, cutovers, testing and operational handovers.
  • Work across network engineering, asset management, provisioning, assurance and field operations to ensure coordinated delivery.
  • Manage project risks, issues and interdependencies, proactively resolving challenges to keep delivery on track.
  • Ensure network changes are carefully planned and executed to maintain service continuity and minimise customer impact.
  • Establish clear project governance, reporting and stakeholder communications.
  • Coordinate internal teams, suppliers and external stakeholders to deliver agreed project outcomes.

Nā tōu rourou - What you will bring

We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager who combines strong project delivery capability, strong commercial awareness, and a sound understanding of telecommunications and network operations.

You'll bring:

  • Significant project management experience, including delivery of large, complex telecommunications, network or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience delivering projects governed by contractual requirements with customers, suppliers and external partners
  • Proven experience managing network migrations, transitions, integrations or major infrastructure changes in live operational environments.
  • A strong understanding of carrier or enterprise networks, including network operations, provisioning, monitoring and service assurance.
  • Experience managing complex technical cutovers, dependencies, operational readiness and service continuity.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional technical teams and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong project governance, financial management, risk management and reporting capability.
  • A recognised project management qualification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent.

You'll be a practical, outcomes-focused project leader who can confidently navigate technical complexity, bring people together and drive delivery without losing sight of the detail.

Nōu te rourou - Why join us?

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a significant network transformation project within one of New Zealand's most established technology businesses.

You'll work alongside experienced network and engineering specialists, tackle complex technical challenges and play a key role in delivering change across critical telecommunications infrastructure.

With a 12-month fixed-term contract and a project that offers genuine technical complexity and business impact, this is an opportunity to put your project leadership experience to work.
