Deputy Manager

Major responsibilities:

Commodity Handling: Procurement of Steel Castings, Non-ferrous castings, investment casting and CI castings

Release of sample casting orders & follow-up with supplier & quality dept. for sample batch approval. Co-ordination with Supplier, Pattern shop & quality for repair & modification of existing patterns if any as per alteration note & process & quality improvement.

Release of PO’s in SAP system as per approved price / Price lists, distribution of PO’s to supplier, follow-up with supplier for On Time deliveries & preponement of urgencies if required.

Communicate delivery pendency list to various suppliers by weekly, review of the same to achieve On Time Deliveries.

Order Management: Oversee the procurement to pay process from PR to execution, ensuring timely and accurate order processing, release of purchase order as per authority matrix. By aligning with policies and project requirements. Coordinate and communicate with respective stakeholders for timely delivery.

Supplier Performance Management: Monitor and assess supplier performance through KPIs, ensuring On-Time Delivery (OTD) and Quality. Collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues on time.

Inventory Management: Develop and implement stocking policies, including Reorder Level (ROL) and safety stock management. Optimize inventory levels, ensuring cost efficiency while avoiding stockouts.

Document Management:

• Ensure the first submission of necessary documentation (e.g., contracts, drawings, etc.) is complete and on time.

• Collaborate with the contract management team to expedite the approval process for documentation and drawings.

• Ensure the timely receipt of materials from suppliers as per the project schedule.

Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Drive the Supplier Relationship Management process, Regular review and MBR (Monthly Business Review) to assess supplier capabilities and resolve any operational challenges.

Coordination with MRP and Other Functions: Work closely with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and other departments to ensure alignment on material availability and ensure the project requirements are met.

Project Kick-Off and Review Meetings: Participate in project kick-off meetings and regular project reviews to track progress, address concerns, and ensure procurement-related milestones are met.

Lean Practices and Operational Efficiency: Adopt lean practices and drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency. Support process automation, such as ASN (Advanced Shipping Notice) and RPA (Robotic Process Automation), to enhance procurement workflows.

Supply Chain Visibility and Digitalization: Enhance supply chain visibility by implementing digital tools and systems. Support the digitalization of procurement processes to improve data accuracy and decision-making.

Standardization and Variety Reduction: Identify opportunities for standardization and variety reduction to streamline product offerings and reduce complexity.

Risk Monitoring, Control, and Mitigation: Proactively monitor and manage supply chain risks, supplier disruptions, material shortages, and develop and implement mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of supply.

Material Master Data and Ticketing: Maintain accurate material master data and raise tickets for system updates or issues as necessary

Requirement profile:

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: BE Mech/ B Tech Mechanical Engineering

Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in tactical purchasing, procurement, Preferably in Pump and Valves Industry and able to handle all types of castings.

Defined competencies:

• In-depth knowledge of Foundry Process & manufacturing process.

• Knowledge about costing / estimation.
• Commercial knowledge about GST.
