The Role
The role is focused on supporting and operating cloud and container-based platforms within a regulated banking environment, with strong mentoring and growth opportunities.
The specialist will participate in day-to-day platform operations, administration, and gradual improvement of Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, and Azure infrastructure under guidance of senior engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting assessment of the current configuration and operational state of Kubernetes (on-premises / cloud) and Apache Kafka platforms.
- Assisting with deployment, configuration, and lifecycle support of applications running on Kubernetes.
- Monitoring availability, performance, and stability of platforms.
- Analyzing logs, metrics, and system events; assisting in incident investigation and resolution.
- Supporting implementation of security policies provided by the client, including:
- authentication and authorization,
- encryption and data protection mechanisms within clusters.
- Supporting integration of Kubernetes and Kafka with other tools and systems (e.g. CI/CD pipelines).
- Assisting with installation, configuration, and maintenance of Kafka brokers and related components.
- Monitoring cluster performance, identifying potential bottlenecks, and supporting optimization activities.
- Participating in cluster scaling and high-availability activities under guidance.
- Supporting adaptation of local Azure Policies to comply with requirements of the parent Bank.
- Participating in Infrastructure as Code activities using Azure DevOps and Terraform (working with existing code).
- Administration of Active Directory objects according to access policies.
- Supporting monitoring and basic administration of Microsoft Azure infrastructure (VMs, Azure AD, networking, billing).
- Installing and updating client-provided software on Azure virtual machines upon request.

Required Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of Kubernetes architecture and container concepts.
- General understanding of Apache Kafka fundamentals (topics, partitions, brokers).
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud infrastructure concepts.
- Initial experience or strong interest in Infrastructure as Code and automation
- Willingness and ability to grow into a more advanced platform / cloud role.
- English level Intermediate (B1+) sufficient for technical communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of Linux operating systems and system administration basics.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (VPN, firewalls, subnets).
- Basic understanding of information security principles.
- Ability to work with documentation, logs, and technical procedures.
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Machines and basic networking.
