The Role

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients - which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Operational & Support Responsibilities:

· 24×7 on call enterprise storage support · Customer facing technical meetings and solution discussions · Opening and managing IBM PMRs for storage related issues · Supporting hardware/software upgrades, migrations, and resiliency projects · Spreadsheet/report creation for operational insight, trending, and capacity planning · Participation in capacity & growth management and performance tuning initiatives · Proficient with customer specific tools, utilities, and reporting frameworks

• GDPS administration, including Global Mirror monitoring, maintenance, and 4-site configurations
• Cyber Resiliency technologies: CSM, Thin Provisioning, Safeguarded Copy, and Cyber Vault operations
• Advanced DFSMShsm (HSM) administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
• Strong JCL development, debugging, and problem determination skills
• Programming/Scripting: REXX, SAS
• Storage Utilities: ICKDSF, DFDSS, FDR, DSCLI, TDMF
• SMS administration, ACS routine design, and troubleshooting
• Tape & Catalog Management: RMM, ICF Catalog administration, recovery, and reorganization
• Performance Tools: Syncsort, StopX37, SEA Soft, Dino Software
• IBM replication technologies: PPRC, Metro Mirror, Global Mirror, HyperSwap
• FlashCopy and point-in-time recovery solutions
• Disaster Recovery planning, testing, and execution
• RPO monitoring, reporting, and compliance management
• Large-scale DFSMShsm administration
• Backup, migration, and dump process optimization
• ML1/ML2 performance tuning and analysis
• Dataset recovery, catalog validation, and troubleshooting
• IBM TS7700 4-Grid Virtual Tape administration and performance monitoring
• IBM DS8000 configuration, migration, capacity planning, and health monitoring
• DSCLI and GUI-based storage management tools

Preferred Technical & Professional Experience

• Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019 administration
• VMware ESX administration and virtualization
• Public and private cloud management, including on-premises to cloud migrations
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation
• Vulnerability management and remediation
• Microsoft Active Directory and Federation Services (ADFS)
• Experience in enterprise storage environments and high-availability solutions
• Strong knowledge of large-scale disaster recovery operations and testing
• Experience with cloud modernization and infrastructure transformation initiatives
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
