About the Role
This 16 month co-op role supports the manager of Infrastructure & Security for Canada by providing provide direct embedded support services within our Engineering department services at the WESCAM division. The successful candidate will be a talented and motivated Linux Administrator with exceptional customer service skills, is adept at managing and coordinating diverse support demands, and drives towards efficiency and continuous improvement for their customers.
Responsibilities:
- Endpoint Management: Maintain and support Linux endpoints, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Automation with Ansible: Develop and manage Ansible playbooks for configuration management and automation tasks.
- Containerization with Docker: Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Docker containers to support various applications and services.
- Atlassian Support: Provide support and administration for Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket), ensuring smooth operation and user satisfaction.
- Upgrade Projects: Plan, execute, and manage small upgrade projects, ensuring minimal disruption and efficient implementation.
- Customer Support: Provide excellent customer support, addressing technical issues, and resolving user inquiries promptly and effectively.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with team members and customers, providing clear and concise updates and documentation.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Linux endpoint management.
- Strong experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
- Solid knowledge of Docker for containerization.
- Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
- Proven ability to manage small upgrade projects from planning to execution.
- Excellent customer support and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE) are a plus.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to complete a 16 month Co-Op term starting May 2026
- Currently enrolled and in good standing with co-op program through accredited university
- Able to obtain Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems, command-line tools, and configuration automation tools (Ansible).
- Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) is a plus.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices is desirable.
