Job Description:

As a Specialist, Software Engineer, you will support the development, integration, and execution of software for embedded target hardware. In this role, you will design and implement software based on requirements and system-level design documentation. You will also work closely with systems and firmware engineers throughout the development process to ensure effective integration and execution.

Essential Functions:

·Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical principles to develop software for embedded target hardware.

·Use C and C++ to design and implement software for embedded Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).

·Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and assess interfaces between hardware, firmware, and software, while ensuring alignment with system performance requirements and overall design objectives.

·Design, document, develop, and test software components in accordance with established software development processes, coding standards, and guidelines.

·Support all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, hardware/software integration, and formal testing.

·Participate in peer reviews and contribute to defect identification, tracking, and resolution.

· Ability to obtain a Department of War Security Clearance

Qualifications:

·Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

·At least 4 years of experience in the computer or software engineering field.

·Minimum of 4 years of professional C/C++ development experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

·Familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).

·Experience using DOORS for requirements traceability and linking system requirements to software requirements.

·Experience developing device drivers and Board Support Packages (BSPs) for real-time embedded systems.

·Proficiency with modern C++ development techniques.

·Experience creating test scripts using Python.

·Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
