Ledgebrook delivers the fastest, easiest quoting experience for wholesale brokers.

Description

Ledgebrook is an AI-native specialty insurance platform. When a business needs coverage that is custom and complex, its broker comes to us, and our underwriters give them an answer, often in hours rather than weeks.

We built our technology from scratch, with AI in it from the first line of code. The technology helps price the risk; the underwriter uses their judgment to decide. There are always two hands on the wheel.

We are insurance industry insiders, and we eat our own cooking: Ledgebrook writes the policy and shares the risk through our own carrier, Ledgebrook Specialty, rated A- (Excellent) by AM Best. We work exclusively through wholesale brokers.

Our vision: to make the wheels of insurance spin faster.

At Ledgebrook, everything we do is driven by our culture: Care, Strive, Thrive Together. To succeed in modernizing the industry, we must first succeed in changing the way we do business. Talent density is our north star-fewer, better people working together as one. To that end we’ve replaced all individual incentives with generous equity packages-we play as a team, we win as a team. Everyone benefits handsomely from Ledgebrook’s success.

Ledgebrook is seeking an experienced Data Analyst, Data Excellence to join our Product & Data team. On this team, you’ll lead analytical efforts to drive data informed decision-making across the entire organization by gathering, analyzing, and visualizing / presenting technical insurance data.

As a Data Analyst, Data Excellence, you will collaborate with data engineering, insurance product, claims, finance and operations teams to improve data integrity and automate reporting capabilities using VBA, SQL and Python.

A key part of your role will be transforming complex insurance data into clear, compelling insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders through required reporting and data visualization.

Beyond reporting, you’ll conduct deep-dive data analysis, develop analytical tools, deliver dedicated solutions to help other departments automate their workflows, and identify opportunities to enhance business performance and operational effectiveness.

You will also provide ad hoc analytical support and research as needed to ensure Ledgebrook continues to operate with data-driven precision.

About you

Here at Ledgebrook we are passionate about creating a team that is on a continuous learning journey and that shares our excitement about building a company from the ground up. Some of the characteristics we hold dear are:

  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to innovate processes/procedures versus being satisfied with the status quo
  • A desire to continue learning whatever your career stage
  • Agile prioritization skills coupled with a keen sense of urgency that seeks to balance getting it right versus getting it done right now
  • A strong drive and desire to win together as a high-performing team
  • A moral compass to “do the right thing, period”, we have zero tolerance for toxic behaviors.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with a collaborative approach, strong analytical skills, and a passion for leveraging data to drive business outcomes.

Some specific experiences and skills include:

  • Strong proficiency with SQL and Excel (ideally including VBA and Power Query).
  • Good knowledge of Power BI or other BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker),
  • Exposure to or proficiency in programming languages (e.g. Python, R) and experience with modern databases, ideally with Snowflake.
  • Exposure to Power Automate and Power Apps, DataGrip / Cursor, and Jira would be an asset.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Navigating a startup environment, fast paced and dealing with uncertainty.
  • Nice to have: Property, Specialty or Casualty insurance data experience, strong interest in AI and ML tools.

For Candidates Applying From Poland:

Please note: This position is open only to candidates who are authorized to work in Poland without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. We are unable to offer sponsorship at this time.
