Leidos’ Defense Sensors organization is seeking a Scrum Master to join our team supporting missile defense projects within the BMD Simulations and Analysis Portfolio.
In this role, the successful candidate will guide and coach an Agile software development team in applying Agile principles and best practices. Responsibilities include facilitating key Scrum events such as daily standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, while proactively identifying and removing impediments that may impact team progress.
The Scrum Master will also collaborate closely with Product Owners to translate epics, user stories, and other backlog items into clear, actionable tasks for software developers, helping the team effectively plan, prioritize, and execute work throughout each sprint.
The ideal candidate will possess strong coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills and thrive in a collaborative team environment. The successful candidate should also can build and maintain strong working relationships with peers, Product Owners, software developers, and other technical staff across the program.

Primary Responsibilities
Facilitate all team level events (PI Planning Team Breakouts, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand Up, Feature Elaboration, Sprint Review & Retro)
Provides timely and accurate reporting of impediments, blockers, and risks to their Release Train Engineer
Work with Release Train Engineer to set performance and growth targets for their teams
Guides mentoring and development of agile team members
Participate in Scrum of Scrums, Inspect and Adapt, and any ad hoc sessions called by RTE or Agile Coach
Responsible for coordinating cross-team collaboration and dependencies and reporting them to the RTE
Ensures teamwork, progress, and artifacts are transparent to all designated stakeholders
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience
Familiar with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Able to effectively communicate across all levels of the program
Strong knowledge of Agile Scrum workflow and Kanban
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to lead and facilitate all Agile ceremonies
Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in Missile Defense
Must be a US citizen possess and be able to maintain an active Secret clearance
Full-time onsite support
Must be a resident of the North Alabama area
Preferred Qualifications
SAFe Scrum Master certification
Jira - issue tracking and agile project management, or similar tool
Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams
Familiar with Agile project tools Verison1/Agility

Pay Range:
Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
