Lexington Medical, Inc. is hiring an Electrical Engineer in Bedford, MA to design and develop embedded electrical systems for our AEON™ surgical stapling platform. As an Electrical Engineer at Lexington Medical, you will work hands-on across the hardware development lifecycle, from circuit design and PCB development through prototyping, testing, debugging, verification, and production.

About Lexington Medical

Lexington Medical, Inc. is a medical device company designing and manufacturing surgical stapling technology at our headquarters in Bedford, Massachusetts, just outside Boston. Our AEON™ Endostapler is an FDA-cleared, minimally invasive surgical stapler used in operating rooms around the world. With engineering, manufacturing, and quality working closely together, engineers stay close to the product and see their work move from an idea through prototyping, testing, manufacturing, and ultimately into the operating room.

About the Role

As an Electrical Engineer at Lexington Medical, you will join an R&D team developing embedded electrical systems for our powered surgical stapling devices. You will contribute to schematic capture, PCB design, component selection, hardware bring-up, debugging, testing, and system-level integration while working closely with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers.

The systems you will work on operate under real-world constraints including power, size, reliability, manufacturability, and regulatory requirements. You will have the opportunity to work across the full development process and see how your electrical designs perform as part of a complete electromechanical medical device.

This is a good fit for an electrical engineer who wants hands-on hardware experience, broad technical exposure, and the opportunity to develop products where disciplined engineering and attention to detail directly impact performance and patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and support embedded electrical subsystems for electromechanical surgical devices.
  • Assist in schematic capture, PCB design (rigid, flex, rigid-flex), and component selection.
  • Support mixed-signal, microcontroller-based designs, including power management, sensing, and actuation circuits.
  • Participate in hardware bring-up, debugging, bench testing, and system-level integration.
  • Collaborate with firmware and mechanical engineers to ensure robust hardware-software integration.
  • Contribute to electrical verification and validation activities, including test execution and documentation.
  • Support design control documentation, including DHF elements, traceability, and risk documentation.
  • Assist with troubleshooting fielded products and implementing well-documented design updates.
  • Learn and apply best practices for design quality, documentation, and change control in a regulated environment.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience, including internships or co-ops in embedded systems hardware design, preferably in a regulated industry.
  • Strong fundamentals in circuit analysis, electronics, and microcontroller-based systems.
  • Experience or coursework in schematic capture and PCB design.
  • Familiarity with mixed-signal circuits, power management, and basic embedded hardware concepts
  • Exposure to structured design documentation and testing practices; regulated industry experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and learn quickly in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
