Senior Test Engineer

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Senior Test Engineer with strong expertise in software testing and a solid background in the Payments domain. The role involves testing an Oracle-based Virtual Account Management (VAM) application, with responsibility for test strategy, test planning, test execution, defect management, and ensuring end-to-end quality across payment workflows.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define and execute test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for VAM and payment-related applications.

- Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing across payment workflows.

- Test Oracle-based Virtual Account Management (VAM) applications and validate business and functional requirements.

- Analyze requirements and identify appropriate test coverage, scenarios, and validation approaches.

- Perform both manual and automated testing as required.

- Validate payment transactions, virtual account workflows, interfaces, integrations, and downstream processing.

- Design and execute positive, negative, boundary, and exception test scenarios.

- Identify, document, track, and manage defects through resolution.

- Perform defect analysis and collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product teams for timely resolution.

- Support SIT, UAT, regression testing, and release validation activities.

- Prepare and maintain test evidence, execution reports, defect reports, and other testing documentation.

- Contribute to improving test coverage, automation, testing efficiency, and overall quality processes.

- Participate in test reviews, requirement discussions, and Agile/SDLC activities.

- Provide regular updates on test progress, defects, risks, and release readiness.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 6 - 8 years of experience in software testing / QA, with significant experience in the Payments domain.

- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test planning, test strategy, test execution, and defect management.

- Hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing.

- Experience testing enterprise applications, preferably Oracle-based applications.

- Strong understanding of payment processing, transaction flows, and financial services applications.

- Experience in Virtual Account Management (VAM) or payment virtual accounts is highly preferred.

- Good understanding of functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.

- Strong experience developing test scenarios and test cases based on business and functional requirements.

- Experience working in Waterfall delivery environments; exposure to Agile methodologies is an advantage.

- Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, release management, and testing best practices.

- Experience with defect management and tools such as Jira, ALM, or equivalent.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
