FinOps Analyst

Cloud FinOps Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Cloud FinOps Analyst to bridge the gap between Finance, Cloud Engineering, Platform Operations, Product Teams, Security, and Business Leadership. In this role, you will drive cost transparency, forecasting, and optimization to ensure cloud investments deliver maximum business value while maintaining financial accountability.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Cost Management & Optimization: Analyze spend across Azure, AWS, GCP, and Snowflake. Identify savings opportunities (idle resources, right-sizing), track commitments, and manage Reserved Instances / Savings Plans.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Build cloud budgets at the team, project, and product levels. Forecast spend based on usage trends, analyze actuals vs. forecast, and support long-range financial planning.
• Cost Allocation & Governance: Implement chargeback/showback models, process invoices, prepare month-end journal entries, and reconcile spending between budget, forecast, and actuals.
• Visualization & Reporting: Design and maintain Power BI dashboards, streamline data workflows using SQL and Power Query, and deliver ad-hoc financial insights to leadership.
• AI & Predictive Innovation: Apply predictive analytics to cloud forecasting and leverage AI tools (e.g., MS Copilot, Copilot Studio) to build models that analyze spending patterns and identify savings.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Cloud FinOps and familiarity with cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake, Cloudability).
• Strong technical skills in Power BI, SQL, and Power Query for data modeling and visualization.
• Background in financial planning, variance analysis, cost allocation (chargeback/showback), and month-end accounting.
• Keen interest in AI-assisted forecasting and predictive modeling tools.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical concepts and financial objectives.
