Production Support & DevOps Engineer

For our client, a global financial services organization, we are looking for an experienced Production Support & DevOps Engineer to join a team supporting business-critical applications and production environments.

This is a production and application support-focused role, with a strong emphasis on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, production stability and long-term solutions. The role combines BAU support with technical projects, including a data centre migration and a new greenfield application for a quantitative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide production and application support for business-critical systems.
• Troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Take ownership of incidents and drive them through to resolution.
• Ensure the stability, reliability and maintainability of production environments.
• Support data centre migration and new application delivery.
• Work with technical teams and business stakeholders, including quantitative and front-office users.
• Assess the production impact of technical solutions and challenge requirements where necessary.
• Identify opportunities to improve and automate operational processes.

Requirements

• Strong experience in Production Support and/or Application Support.
• Proven troubleshooting and RCA experience in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux.
• Good understanding of networking and storage.
• Experience with CVE patching and vulnerability remediation.
• Experience with production monitoring and tools such as ELK and Geneos.
• Ability to work across both BAU support and technical projects.
• Strong understanding of production stability, operational risk and maintainability.
• Previous experience in financial services is essential - banking, capital markets, trading or financial applications.
• Experience working with traders, quants, front-office or desk users will be a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership and collaborate across multiple teams.
