Cloud Solution Architect

This is a senior architecture role combining cloud solution design, Infrastructure as Code, security, governance and technical leadership. The successful candidate will act as a technical design authority, helping teams design secure, scalable and future-proof cloud solutions and integrate them into the existing IT landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and govern Microsoft Azure cloud architectures and infrastructure patterns.
• Define and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
• Establish and maintain cloud architecture, security and governance standards.
• Ensure solutions align with ISO 27001, cybersecurity and enterprise architecture principles.
• Provide architectural guidance from initial concept through implementation and prototyping.
• Work closely with Security, Networking, Identity, Infrastructure, Application and DevOps teams.
• Provide technical leadership across complex cloud initiatives and ensure architectural standards are followed.
• Evaluate new technologies and identify opportunities to improve the existing cloud landscape.
• Document architecture decisions, standards and solution designs.
• Act as a senior technical advisor and point of contact for cloud architecture and governance.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud architecture.
• Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally using Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates.
• Experience designing complex IT landscapes, cloud platforms and integration scenarios.
• Good understanding of enterprise architecture and IT governance.
• Familiarity with DevOps processes, modern deployment models and cloud operating models.
• Understanding of cloud security and compliance, ideally including ISO 27001.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of TOGAF or ArchiMate will be a plus.
• Relevant Azure certifications, such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, are desirable.
