Scrum Master / Delivery Manager - Payment Platform

We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master / Delivery Manager / Agile Project Manager to lead the delivery of a new, enterprise-grade payment gateway platform.

This role combines agile leadership, delivery management, stakeholder coordination, and technical understanding. You will work closely with Product, Architecture, Engineering, Security, DevOps, QA, Compliance, and external partners to ensure predictable, high-quality delivery of a secure, scalable, and highly available payment solution.

Key Responsibilities

Agile Delivery

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Support the team in applying Agile principles and continuously improving delivery flow, predictability, and collaboration.
• Identify and remove blockers, manage dependencies, and ensure effective team delivery.

Delivery Management

• Own end-to-end delivery planning, tracking, and reporting.
• Maintain delivery roadmaps, sprint plans, and release schedules.
• Proactively identify delivery risks and coordinate mitigation actions.
• Coordinate activities across Engineering, Architecture, Security, DevOps, QA, and Compliance teams.

Backlog & Azure DevOps

• Work closely with the Product Owner to maintain a clear and prioritised backlog.
• Manage epics, features, user stories, sprint boards, dashboards, and delivery metrics in Azure DevOps.
• Monitor delivery metrics such as velocity, burndown, cycle time, and lead time.
• Ensure work items are clearly defined, estimated, and aligned with the product roadmap.

Stakeholder Management

• Provide clear and concise delivery updates to senior stakeholders.
• Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical teams.
• Manage expectations regarding scope, timelines, dependencies, and risks.
• Support effective collaboration with external technology and payment partners.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master, Delivery Manager, or Agile Project Manager in a technical environment.
• Strong track record delivering payment systems, payment gateways, or other high-availability and high-security financial platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for backlog management, delivery tracking, reporting, and metrics.
• Good understanding of payment processes such as authorisation, capture, settlement, and refunds.
• Understanding of PCI-DSS, security principles, and compliance requirements.
• Good knowledge of modern cloud-native architectures, including APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems.
• Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, and DevSecOps practices.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence teams and stakeholders without direct authority.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to delivery management.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Azure cloud services.
• Background in fintech, e-commerce, or other regulated industries.
• Experience working with third-party payment providers or acquirers.
• Knowledge of scaled Agile frameworks such as SAFe, LeSS, or Scrum@Scale.
