Job title: Tax Manager (Fixed Term)

Reporting to: Head of Tax

Working with: All LDC groups and offices

Role overview:

Reporting to the Interim Head of Tax, the Tax Associate role will manage tax compliance, governance, reporting and operational activities across LDC and its portfolio companies. The role will be responsible for coordinating tax-related deliverables, managing information requests, supporting tax risk management processes and ensuring key regulatory and reporting obligations are met. The role involves collaborating closely with Finance and Legal, our value creation partners and LBG Tax department.

The role would suit an experienced tax professional looking to leverage their expertise in tax governance, compliance, reporting and project delivery. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience working with senior stakeholders, coordinating complex tax workstreams and driving delivery of regulatory and governance requirements within a large corporate environment. The role requires strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy whilst supporting the wider objectives of the Tax function.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance the tax governance framework for portfolio companies.
  • Manage adviser engagement processes, including agreement of fee schedules and delivery expectations.
  • Manage tax risk reporting and governance inputs across the business.
  • Maintain documentation of tax department activities, controls and procedures.
  • Manage tax data collection and support responses to queries arising from tax return submissions.
  • Manage preparation and validation of tax information required for statutory and regulatory filings.
  • Support tax workstreams arising from acquisitions and portfolio activity and manage tax-related information requests from portfolio companies.
  • Monitor completion of tax-related actions arising from portfolio company reviews.
  • Manage provision of tax information to LDC’s investor including:
    • Coordinate compensating adjustment claims and supporting documentation.
    • Manage Substantial Shareholding Exemption Reviews.
    • Manage Controlled Foreign Company (CFC) and Residential Property Developer Tax (RPDT) compliance reviews for LDC’s investor.
    • Coordinate Pillar Two information gathering and reporting requirements for LDC’s investor.
  • Support HMRC enquiry management, including coordination of information and maintenance of tracking schedules.
  • Manage broader tax projects and strategic initiatives as required

Skills and attributes relevant to the role:

Essential

  • Significant experience operating within a tax risk, tax governance or tax compliance environment.
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams and project deadlines.
  • Experience interacting with senior stakeholders, finance teams and external advisers.
  • Strong understanding of tax compliance and governance processes within large organisations.
  • Knowledge of UK corporation tax compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Experience supporting HMRC enquiries and information requests.
  • Familiarity with transfer pricing, Pillar Two reporting and international tax governance frameworks.
  • Inquisitiveness required to delve into and understand a changing menu of issues.
  • Determination needed to query information and opinions to arrive at robust decisions.
  • Structured approach to organising and prioritising a range of work.
  • Able to communicate with precision, conviction and concision.
