LMI

LMI is a technology solutions and management consulting enterprise specializing in defense, intelligence, healthcare, and public sector modernization. The company focuses on delivering advanced analytics, AI-enabled software, supply chain logistics, cloud transformation, and digital engineering solutions to federal government agencies. Headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, it operates multiple regional offices across the United States to support defense, space, and homeland security missions.

Overview

LMI is seeking an experienced Principal Solutions Architect, Supply Chain & Logistics to shape, integrate, and advance technology-enabled solutions supporting federal supply chain, logistics, industrial base, and sustainment missions. This individual will serve as a senior technical leader across LMI's existing programs and growth pipeline, translating complex mission challenges into innovative, integrated solutions that leverage LMI's proprietary technologies, data assets, analytical capabilities, and domain expertise. Working closely with market leadership, business development, product teams, and program delivery organizations, the Principal Solutions Architect will help establish technical direction, strengthen solution differentiation, and accelerate the adoption of scalable, reusable capabilities across customer engagements.

The ideal candidate combines deep familiarity with federal logistics and supply chain missions, strong technical fluency in modern data and analytical technologies, and a demonstrated ability to architect and communicate compelling solutions. This individual must be equally comfortable advising program teams on technical approaches, collaborating with developers and data scientists to shape integrated solutions, and engaging senior government stakeholders to identify opportunities and articulate LMI's approach and technical value. Success requires strategic thinking, technical credibility, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence outcomes across a diverse portfolio of programs, products, and stakeholders.

LMI is a new breed of digital solutions provider dedicated to accelerating government impact with innovation and speed. Investing in technology and prototypes ahead of need, LMI brings commercial-grade platforms and mission-ready AI to federal agencies at commercial speed.

Leveraging our mission-ready technology and solutions, proven expertise in federal deployment, and deep mission understanding, LMI delivers solutions that help government organizations achieve measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Shape technical strategy and solution direction across LMI's supply chain, logistics, industrial base, and sustainment programs and growth opportunities, aligning technology capabilities and investments with evolving customer mission needs.

  • Architect integrated, mission-focused solutions that combine LMI's proprietary platforms, analytical models, data assets, commercial technologies, and subject matter expertise to address complex operational and enterprise challenges.

  • Provide senior technical advisory support to active programs, identifying opportunities to modernize architectures, improve interoperability, introduce emerging technologies, and expand the value delivered to existing customers.

  • Lead technical solution development for business development and capture efforts, partnering with market and growth leaders to assess opportunities, develop solution concepts, define technical approaches, and contribute to competitive proposals.

  • Engage directly with government customers and mission stakeholders to understand operational challenges, assess technical requirements, communicate solution alternatives, and demonstrate the value of LMI's capabilities.

  • Develop and deliver technical demonstrations, prototypes, and proofs of concept, coordinating with product developers, engineers, data scientists, and mission experts to validate solution feasibility and communicate potential mission impact.

  • Identify opportunities to integrate, reuse, and scale technology capabilities across programs and customers, reducing duplicative development and helping transform successful technical approaches into repeatable solution offerings.

  • Collaborate with product and technology leadership to inform capability roadmaps, prioritize technical investments, identify integration requirements, and align product development with emerging market opportunities.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies, data sources, and solution approaches, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, modeling and simulation, optimization, and modern data platforms, for applicability to federal supply chain and logistics missions.

  • Serve as a technical thought leader and trusted advisor, contributing to customer briefings, technical workshops, strategic partnerships, industry engagements, and internal knowledge sharing to strengthen LMI's market positioning and technical credibility.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience in solution architecture, systems engineering, technical consulting, technology strategy, or related roles, including experience supporting complex federal technology programs or initiatives.

  • Demonstrated experience developing integrated technical solutions that combine multiple systems, data sources, analytical capabilities, or software applications to address enterprise or mission-level requirements.

  • Strong understanding of federal supply chain, logistics, industrial base, acquisition, or sustainment missions, including the operational challenges, data environments, and technology requirements associated with these domains.

  • Working knowledge of modern data architectures, cloud technologies, application integration, APIs, data engineering, advanced analytics, and AI/ML, with the ability to evaluate technical approaches and guide multidisciplinary implementation teams.

  • Experience supporting business development, technical capture, solution engineering, or customer-facing technical engagements, including translating requirements into solution architectures, demonstrations, or proposals.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and advise senior government or industry leaders.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant technical, engineering, analytical, or business discipline.

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense logistics, sustainment, supply chain risk management, defense industrial base, or contested logistics missions, including familiarity with relevant DoD data environments and enterprise systems.

  • Experience architecting solutions that leverage modeling and simulation, optimization, graph analytics, supply chain risk intelligence, digital twins, or AI-enabled decision-support capabilities.

  • Demonstrated success developing technical solutions that contributed to federal contract wins, customer expansion, technology adoption, or the development of repeatable commercial or government offerings.

  • Experience with technology product development, platform integration, technical roadmap planning, and collaboration across distributed engineering, product, and program delivery organizations.
